Actually, this should be the first thing they are thinking about in the very first stages of developement, as performance issues with the old engine is the reason for the overhaul. You don't just program a game and say at the end, hey, now lets see what our game will require to run, or it could end up spelling performance disasters that came to be known as 1.0.

last I checked, and it's been awhile, but ATi/AMD was the largest manufacturor of graphics card chipsets. A company may optimize more towards one brand or the other, but just testing on one platform would be folly and would cost SE alot of revenue off of game sales. Usually a company wont just test for both companies, but go down the line testing most graphics cards made within the last 4-5 years or so, and SE would have had a target in the very beginning on what hardware they would be catering to, both low and high end.

Also, not specifying which 5xx series card would be required for the recommended settings might just stir some of those 520 owners to think they have a chance of playing with near max settings, which just by looking at the videos, can tell would not be possible. I can see, however, not listing an AMD cpu for recommended as they are just so far behind I5/7 at this time, but I believe those with recent quad core AMD cpus will stand a chance of having enough power under the hood, should this game be highly optimized for multi-core CPUs.

And as glad as I am to hear that the alpha version was running well as far down as with a radeon 4200, you guys shouldn't be mentioning this info until the NDAs are lifted to avoid service suspensions or worse.
