US-West / US-East Servers?

Lately I've been wondering if the regional data centers for the US are going to be just one central data center or if they are going to have seperate for the east and west side of the US.

Typically you will see on regional games they will have one Asia based server, one EU, and 2 servers for US from East coast based, to a west coast based one and I was wondering if anyone has heard anything on this in any interviews or anything...I like to think I stay pretty up to date on the interviews and letters or anything like that so if its been released already it slipped by my friends and I.

Could we maybe get some confirmation on the plans for this from a Rep. or something? Some of us still sticking with friends from the US might have to make decisions on whether or not we play on a server opposite of our coast line, giving us around 100+ Pings.

Edit: I think I'm not getting my initial intention to the post understood so heres some clarity;

I was more so asking if this is going to be available rather than requesting it be. Just as the regional servers will passively segregate the community based on location, US-EAST and US-WEST servers will as well, and I was wondering if that is their intention, or if they plan to have only one data center for all of the NA region.

each SE HQ has a data center and most likely will have a load balance in the ones other then japan. i dont see them buying from 3rd party.

For my personal selfish reasons for living in the mid-west's Kansas City. I think they should put one here to be equi-distance for all!

If they don't host regional servers in datacenters located in those respective regions, then they're worthless and are better off not having them in the frist place.

Not really. They don't even need the regional servers to begin with from what we've seen in alpha and they're only doing it to please people who kept bitching thinking that was the issues with lag for XIV.

Going to agree this time. Personally I think they should just have a Japanese datacenter, but I guess it's too late for them to back out on that now. There are some decisions SE will fix for us, and it feels like this isn't one of them.

Which, if anyone checks the OP again, isn't the issue here. I'm curious about SE's plans for datacenter placement, too. I always assumed California.

Separating the US from the world.
Separating the US/West from US/East.

People think it'll be better for the game for some reason, thinking it'll clear up lag even though SE says the lag wasn't caused by geographical location since even Japanese players had extreme lag with 1.0.
