    Threwing my 2 Cents in,

I would love it on a PS3 for many reasons.
-Keyboard and mouse accessible with the PS3. Not only that it has a input Voice system as well.
-I love my PS3, Final fantasy was breed into the sony console. (My first FF was on the nintendo console's but my obsession began after FF9 and FF7 for the PS1, then jumped onto the other handheld versions, even the classics for the PS1).
-Final fantasy series, have been so flexible and amazing on the Playstation console. From my experience and point of view. Even loved and enjoyed playing FFXI Online on the PS2, it was perfect and amazing; although I do fear ONE thing, that that PS3 has shit servers.

Only thing I can say is, I hope they have their own personal server. So we don't have to use the PS3 Servers, cause the PS3 servers are horrid from experience. Unless you have the PS3+ (Plus) Which doesn't make much of a difference imo.

Plus it be nice to have a back up console that is supporting FFXIV, for those that travel and can't carry a Desktop, or don't want to play on a laptop. Although it would be amazing to play it on a 32' or higher TV /snorts all geeky/ I'd so take a picture standing next to my avatar with a 52' TV XD yeyeye!

PS+ has nothing to do with server connection. The benefits of PS+ is just discounted PSN store games, 10 free monthly game downloads, and Cloud storage as long as you stay subscribed.

Hence why I said not much of a difference? lol (meaning its useless, nothing even worth of effort, just incase someone might mention it. Come on, think present.) :3

I might be lacking sleep, but why you mention PS+ then lol? I'll figure it out later.
Perhaps PS+ members will get discounted expansion packs. Oh snap!

Not going to read all 17 pages of this thread.

Aside from the customers yet to be gained from the PS3 market; SE has to hold up it's end of the deal and keep it's promises to all of us.

They mentioned it many times: The PS3 version is being created because 1.0 was supposed to have a PS3 version and they refuse to back down on that commitment because they wish to regain the trust of their customers and the only way to do that is to follow through with what they have already promised to us.

    Yes, promise.

Actually I bought my PS3 at 2007 in the faith that FF13 and FF14 will be exclusive content for this console....

I am glad to see they are willing to keep the promise after 6 years.

But now I wish they can port FF14 to PS4 because the HW of PS3 is absolutely outdated.

And yet today, the PS2 version of Seekers of Adoulin will not be released in North America, and in general it is the PC version that seems to get the most support and attention from Square-Enix.

Now we have ARR on the horizon. 1.0, at least, was written for and graced the PC first. Meanwhile, all indications are the next PlayStation will be announced by the time ARR hits shelves; and there's certainly no guarantee that Sony's next console will play PS3 games.

With the cards already stacked against the PS3 version, and with the history of FFXI showing that support for console versions will get axed well before the PC version, why is Square-Enix bothering with releasing the PS3 version of the game at all at this point? And why should players make the commitment of buying the PS3 version when history shows they'll just have to move to the PC eventually anyway?
You, sir, need a lesson in marketing. Or twenty. The several tens of million PS3s in nearly as many households aren't going to just disappear when Sony will release the PS4 that, mind you, hasn't even been announced yet.

Don't worry about how the "cards are stacked". They know better than you.

Mind you, comparing the PS3 to the PS2 is as ridiculous as it comes. Seekers of Adoulin won't be released on a console that hasn't been part of the current generation for SIX years. The PS3 is still extremely far from that point.

You mean the past behavior that has been, in quite a few cases, thrown out of the window with Final Fantasy XIV?

You know, in the past Square Enix didn't even want to hear about official forums. You're writing nonsensical dribble on one now.

And mind you, if you want to look at "past behavior", you may want to look at the recent past, that recent past in which SE released Dragon Quest X on the Wii, and is re-releasing it with better graphics on the Wii U. Expansions and updates are continuing and are going to continue on the Wii version, despite it being an "obsolete" console.

I suggest checking your facts before you bring up "Past behavior" as evidence of something you evidently know very little about.

Not much different in price if you have a computer already that's semi recent and has PCI-E ports. Most of which have them these days, even the cheap ones.

If you don't mind waiting a few days, you can upgrade a pc to play ARR quite cheaply if you use online retailers, and do a bit of shopping around.

Edit: I'm not trying to sway anyone, one way or another. I just think you all should weigh your options, parts vs ps3, then decide. Can't hurt to look around first, especially if you're just sitting around the forums trying to figure out what to do.

I'll gladly help anyone who wants look for parts if they want, that are decent for a decent price. Just an offer. Have at ye'.
