PlayStation 3 version: Why Bother?

Anyone whose says PC gaming will never die, let's talk in fifteen years and see.

I'm going to assume u mean subscription model MMORPGs and not what u literally said (although through this game i have hopes that the industry can reteach itself the benefits of subscriptions and focusing on quality), so that it could 'possibly' happen because of how poorly a vast majority of MMORPGs are being developed without any innovations and the idiocy of the PC players that brain-washed themselves into thinking that paying more than a subscription to play a game is F2P and somehow palatable.

Computer gaming has been around since the Apple II and will never die before consoles. Because as long as anyone is gaming they will at least game on PC because it's multi-purpose capacities.

Although don't get me wrong i think the loss of subscription MMORPGs would be one of the worst things to ever happen to gaming, proof that convenience is more important than quality.

PC gaming is already taking that deep nose dive. The fact that PC is trying to move into the living room now with a device known as the Steam box from Valve, proves just how much of an advantage consoles have in gaming.

There isn't much games out there to say I need a PC for, and one game is hardly enough reason to go out and spend $2000 just to have a powerful PC to play it on, because once upon a time there was Crisis, but now there is Crisis 2, and now even 3 is coming out soon for consoles.

I'm going to speculate and say PS4 and the nextbox is going to crush PC.

I'm not too worried. Good game developers now develop for PS3, XBOX360, WII U and PC such as SE, Capcom, and UBiSoft. They build/use software to easily port their games to multiple platforms. I bought ACIII, Deus Ex, Tomb Raider and DMC for pc. I doubt this will change with the release of the PS4 and the PS4 isn't going to surpass PC performance since it needs to be cheap. $2000 is overkill for a PC, $1000 will get you a very good PC, and for $500 you can build a PC that outperforms the PS3 easily.

I think the PS4 will be a slower uptake than the PS3. People buy consoles because they are cheap and easy to configure. Sony has to convince everyone that buying a PS4 is worth it while the PS3 already delivers decent quality gaming. Also it takes time for developers to port or develop new games for the PS4.

Will never happen. I have no use for a PS#, WiiUme, or an Xbox5mil... I have perhaps a few games, 2 or 3 that I even play, that will work on PC for the next 10 - 15+ years... and since I'm able to use my PC for more then just gaming it means i don't have to buy a $400 paper weight that will break from poor quality to play one game. I'm sure others feel the same.

Some things I don't understand in your post. You use your pc for gaming? You have 2 or 3 games?

Yeah that box is called - a Valve branded PC. It won't have a closed architecture like a console. PC gaming is growing like crazy due to steam. You don't know what you're talking about.

If you're saying there's no games out there you really need a PC for then you're living in a very unhappy bubble. 100's of games on steam (not to mention almost all the games on indiegala.com, indieroyale.com, humblebundle.com) are for PC only and you, sadly, are missing out on all of them That's ok, go back to your closed walled garden of consoles and miss out on all the innovation.

PC gaming did take a hit in the past, but it's been pushing back these last few years. I honestly don't think it will die the death people claim, although I do understand why they feel it will.

Star Citizen

A crowd funded game for PC only. Funds raised by people who support PC gaming. Raised over $7m. This to me says there is an audience for it and that it is not dying the death you might be hoping.

Some things I don't understand in your post. You use your pc for gaming? You have 2 or 3 games?

Let me be more clear, I have a PC so that i can watch movies, surf the net, skype, paint, write a book, whatever.. I'm also able to use it for gaming.

By having a PC for these things I've eliminated the need to have a... stand alone DVD player, pen and paper, PS3 etc...

That's my opinion but it's pretty simple, PC will always be more advanced than consoles.
What is the lifetime for a Console? PS3 : 11novembre 2006 -> novembre 2013 ps4? to make simple. 7years...

What is a lifetime for a PC, one or two years max? When PS4 will be at the 3rd year released (2016-17). Awesome PC graphics will pop, so much better than the PS4 can do with his 2013config... and this for a long time.

PC gaming whatever is his form will never die. Look developpers are already angry coz the config of PS4 isn't enough high for their games excpectations.
