Since in the road map shows SE is adding more servers for each phase, I'm assuming SE plans to keep the testers through each phase and add more.

I'm pretty sure we will find out more information pretty soon(probably on the 7th) based on this statement in road map:
"* Please access the Beta Tester Application Site (opening early January 2013)
for more information on the beta schedule and application procedures."

Ok Ty, i thought so as well just wasn't in writing. But remaking my character each phase... and then testing my character transfer is gonna be interesting.

Yes, you get to play through the rest of the phases. For example if you enter p1 you get to play through till p4 or if you get in from p2 you get to play to p4 etc etc. For each phases they just invite more testers. They don't drop people, just people stopped logging in. And yes, our characters are going to be deleted from phase 1 and 2 but phase 3 i don't think they're going to delete them.

Swore I read on the roadmap that legacy players are "ELIGIBLE" to enter beta but aren't 100% invited. Maybe I'm just reading it wrong.

In phase 3 you can use your 1.0 characters. Since SE plans to keep phase 4 character data to release they have to reset character data from Phase 3. If SE not going to delete the actual characters in phase 3 they will have to reset any progress.

- Phase 3 characters will be deleted at the start of phase 4.

Beta Test Phase 4
- Characters created during this phase will be carried over to the official release.
* Circumstance may necessitate the deletion of character data.

1) You are not disallowed from telling people you in the beta test- you're only not allowed to discuss what happens in it with people outside of it.
2) people have known about Legacy since long before the beta was announced or that legacy players would automatically be participants.

I like to see the source for information #1, because the alpha tester agreement says otherwise. Beta tester agreement isn't out yet.


#2 I would not say "legacy players would automatically be participants" It's more like legacy players have an automatic beta test invite. You aren't actually a beta test participant till you accept the agreement, then you are allowed to use the client.

Edit: This is the wording from the road map: "All Legacy status holders qualify as testers in phase 1."
