I've been curious about role-playing in game but never tried it but this was an interesting aspect I never thought of. Would a role player then come up with a suitable explanation for this dietary limitation without referring to the real life motivation?
I presume they would - although the backstory I'm developing for my character doesn't feature something like that, it does share certain aspects of myself in real life, so I think others who like to role-play their characters would indeed work out an in-game reasoning behind it, to make it consistent and believable.
Also, interesting idea about Azeyma Fatestorm - Azeyma is my character's guardian, in keeping with her being a member of the Seeker of the Sun miqo'te clan (even though in the backstory I'm working out for her, Enki isn't really devout - she's more pragmatic when it comes to the Twelve, owing to her origins as an Ala Mihgan refugee), so that quest in 1.0 was very intriguing. I never picked up on the flatbread reference though (despite the fact that when I used that item in battle, it always mentioned in the chatlog that 'it tasted divine') - the depth of the lore hidden in the game is constantly astounding me.
