the game would have to be dead first for there to be ashes to rise up from and btw nin tanks need more healing then plds because once shadows go down they are paper towels with knifes and die pretty quick if left unchecked (trust me i've seen it many a time)

lol no i do i had to sud tank as mnk a lot for so called nin tanks..if i didn't pull hate (i subbed war btw) at the right time they hit the dirt hard...

also by the way ppl talk about nin any dd job can tank if its true...why not? I tanked as DRK before and MNK so why can't all DD jobs become tanks if NIN can? why not?

and how can you even attempt to compare the two as if they're in any way equivalent? DRK and MNK do MORE damage than NIN, but lacks the tools to TANK. tanks manage and control enmity and mitigate damage. DRK and MNK or any other DD don't "manage" or "control" enmity. they spike it wildly. and they certainly don't mitigate damage.

you can give them nin sub for shadows to help mitigate damage, but then their enmity control is even worse.

that isn't tanking.

I don't think PLD shouldn't be the only tank, and because is called Paladin shoudn't be the superior tank of the game. PLD tank on exp during XI were fine, some PT went better with PLD than NIN, also a lot of time when you got a nin tank the party could work without NIN or PLD. I had a set with a cor friend, me being rdm, and we just made the party w/o tank fighting colibri from 37 on East Ronfaure and moving to Toau at 55.

Anyways, i'll love to see another tank job with another mechanic, like NIN, but not using shadows, i don't know how, but having low defense but another tools to keep on. Paladin should be the tank of the light, maybe dark knight can be a tank too, using his dark magic to drain HP and using powerful WS that drain mob HP.

I dont think PLD should be the only tank but it should be the main tank. He is limited to this role in usefulness - its not like you can be like oh we need a decent healer lets take the PLD, he was only ok enough to sort of take care of himself. Literally everyone was better at his sub roles then him, so his only main role - tanking..

In a matter of balance, he should be the star.

i can't do this anymore. you people are the reason NA's can't/don't PUG as well as JPs. you fall in love with the IDEA of a job (usually your own personal idea, rather than the collective) and don't care about anything else, won't work around it, don't care about teamwork- only the IDEA of your own role in the party. and you cling to it for dear life. to the detriment of everyone around you.
