the only thing i'll miss, is the bigger inventory
Is it bad that I had more fun and memorable moments in Alpha than I did in 1.0?
One thing nice about FFXIV 1.0 servers going down... its the first game I was able to say "I was there" when they shut down the server.
...SE didn't even say goodbye![]()
^they did, they just have a funny way of doing it.....there actually may have been a translation error though as my farewell message from them was "error 1403 lobby server error".
That's the only thing I will NOT miss about 1.0.

This is why I think SE should release the server software for Version 1.0. That way, SE is free to focus on ARR, and those of us who miss certain aspects of FFXIV could still have a way to play the original version of the game if we want.

I wonder if a v1.0 cutscene viewer would be possible? Like an offline version of the Unending Journey... *sigh*
Didn't Yoshi-P state that they're apparently working on converting 1.0's cutscenes to the 2.0 engine so that when you transfer you'll be able to view them in your Inn Room as usual? I don't think an offline 1.0 cutscene viewer would work though, seeing as it would need server-side data to function (character data specifically), which is no longer possible.
Actually, when the servers were shut down they did - they sent a system message to all players from a few hours repeatedly til the very last moment after the usual 'please log out before the servers are taken offline' thing, thanking players for supporting 1.0:
Of course it's not a literal 'goodbye and good luck' message, but you get the idea.![]()
I thought many of the cutscenes would be changing in ARR? I haven't been paying close attention to all of the details, though, so someone please correct me if I am wrong.Didn't Yoshi-P state that they're apparently working on converting 1.0's cutscenes to the 2.0 engine so that when you transfer you'll be able to view them in your Inn Room as usual? I guess an offline cutscene viewer could use any locally saved character data found in your character folder. Inventory information would probably be on their servers, so maybe an offline viewer could let us set any equipment we like for the movie. ^^
Anyway, I know it's wishful thinking. I just miss FFXIV a lot right now.
This message would have been nice to have seen at the close on the day of the Final Battle. Certainly it would have been for those of us like my self who stuck with it since launch.Didn't Yoshi-P state that they're apparently working on converting 1.0's cutscenes to the 2.0 engine so that when you transfer you'll be able to view them in your Inn Room as usual?
