    i haven't read through this entire thread but having only one class/job allowed for dungeon seems like it will just cause balancing issues along with unnecessary problems for SE when their main focus should be balancing content for classes and jobs alike making them relevant and not obsolete.

    personally to me if SE would restrict parties from class/job stacking by not allowing X amount of said classes/jobs to be in party then i could deal with that but having an entire dungeon and furthermore content dedicated just to one specific class/job seem silly.

    I'd rather get 8 dungeons than 1 dungeons with 8 diff path. As others say, too restrictive.

    Well, you can recycle those resources and use the same assets to make different fights for each job. But a party consisting of a single job sounds kinda silly. I'd rather be seeing a solo fight that's challenging and is tailored to that job's strengths and weaknesses. XI did have a handful of solo boss battles, most of which varied depending on the job you used.

    I agree that such specific job only content ought to be of a smaller party size. I think restrictive content like this should be strictly connected with the job story rather than endgame content and/or for rewards that do not contend with endgame content. Like was said earlier a Trial possibly set by a Job NPC that strictly forbids those outside the brotherhood from interfering in a player's right of passage. Otherwise it makes little sense to prohibit other jobs/classes from participating.

    The only way this would make any sense is either solo or with much smaller parties. Having 8 of anything would just complicate the design choices for such dungeons. You don't want a particular challenge to be overcome simply by ganging up on a monster, or by attributing pseudo-roles to classes not meant to be played that way. The fights against Maat in FFXI are pretty much your perfect reference, but it's already been done.
