You do realize the development effort it would be to create a dungeon for each of the 8 jobs? I would much rather get 8 dungeons that any combination of class/job can play.

D-U-N-G-E-O-N . F-I-N-D-E-RWhat would happen:
Day 1: 1000 WHM all spam the instance for completion
Day 10: almost every WHM has completed the instance
Day 100: You spend about 10 hours begging people to job change to their WHM to help you through, but the group falls apart after only getting up to 5 WHMs for a few hours.
Crisis averted!

Everyone has there own Dungeon. It basically adds different play style for a raid dungeon. There's already alot of things that have same basic setup for every dungeon. 1-2whms, 2-4 blm, 1 tank. Basically change out some blms with melee DD and its the same basic setup.

I think they could do this with resources already created, like recycling dungeon objects - which would mean one person could make a small bundle of content quickly and efficently with very low cost (they could do this without the class stacking, but class restriction events can add interesting elements of play). Like little side mini games.
I dont like players thinking they should be able to go everywhere as a single class and I would like to see content say "hey, you need this class for X - deal with it". "I want to tank as a whm" no. Go level a tank or dont do it.
That said, this kind of content really really needs to be carefully crafted and not very often (not a main focus), or at least that the rewards are for fun like little gimmicks. Not because I'm against people having to deal with reality rather then make everything fit their needs, but rather as others said class stacking can be very boring and if they did this to the level it leaked out into main play, that would be really bad (boring game = dead game = sad face).
Also if you did this, you would have to ensure each class has its own dungeon - or at least some kind of opposite reward. You dont want to send the message that melee is superior to magic or vice a versa, since you want your classes balanced (basically class stacking mustn't leak out into main play).
I'm referring to class stacking when the majority of the party is one particular class (so two of X isnt class stacking but 4 or more is in a party of 8- not that these dungeons need to be 8).

"Thanks for the offer but I'll have to pass" would be what you would get from me.Like to see Job Dungeons appear that require say 8 White Mages or 8 Dragoons or Warriors. Each Dungeon has its own boss and reward the job your using it for.
It can be the same dungeon but enemy layout/boss weaknesses/rewards/pathways can change. Its since to see many people take different roles while on the same job, Such as White Mage Melee,Cure,Magic Nuking etc.
Can also be creative like a Melee only chamber & a magic only chamber.
Would also like to see some Job locks while inside the dungeons.
Yes I have all jobs at cap, no I do not like playing them all equally. Case and point why do I have to play something I don't like in order to cover content. You can attempt a dungeon with all of the same classes, how far you get one god knows... but to have a restriction only X number of same job needed to enter is bad planning..

This sounds like a good idea as long as rewards fit the requirements to enter. (ie, WHM only dungeon gives WHM rewards)
However, in order to balance this out, how many dungeons would need to be made in order to cover all existing jobs? I'm not sure that the dev team should spend time creating and balancing 8+ dungeons just to cover all jobs.
They could still do flavorful dungeons though. What if they did something like FFV's 'Fork Tower' where you have split your party into Magic and Melee groups to tackle separate Magic only and Melee only paths and each clear objectives within it to allow the other side to progress?
Or what if they created a dungeon like the 'Magnetic Cave' in FFIV? It might be fun to try a dungeon where we are restricted from using any metal items.

This is just a really bad idea. Why take the time to balance dungeons for a single class. They would have to make 8 different versions of a dungeon that only 1 class could play in. Just seems like better time spent if they made 8 different versions of a dungeon that all the classes could play in. Instead of only having 1 dungeon to run (if you only have 1 job), there are 8.
Just fyi, poster posted the exact same suggestion on the XI forums.

No offense, but this idea seems incredibly stupid.. I really don't like it
