i think you're wrong here. The right world is "blm"I'm not speaking personally, I levelled everything but ARC (couldn't get into it *shrug*), and I agree that people who only level 1 class are limiting themselves..but that's just it..People don't mind limiting themselves, but they hate others limiting them.
It basically comes down to.. "I don't care about the other job's story and gear, so I'll play what I like." and "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN I CANT FIGHT THAT COOL LOOKING BOSS BECAUSE IM NOT A DRG! F*^% YOU SE!"
And people will flood the forums with that crap endlessly.
Fuck class stacking :|

But the story and gear is the same kind of limitation. Everyone has the opportunity to fight said boss, but only if they're willing to put the effort into leveling the specific job. How on earth can people take offense to that?I'm not speaking personally, I levelled everything but ARC (couldn't get into it *shrug*), and I agree that people who only level 1 class are limiting themselves..but that's just it..People don't mind limiting themselves, but they hate others limiting them.

All this being said, I can't imagine these dungeons being all that well designed. These jobs and classes weren't exactly designed to have parties of 8 of the same. Maybe something like an individual challenge, but a full party would be difficult to build around.
I do REALLY think that there needs to be more job/class-specific orientated quests/missions/instances in XIV. As many people said I'm not sure that a 8-man dungeon run of the same job/class would work, or even be all that fun, BUT as Grammul suggested it doesn't need to be a full pt to include this type of content. But the story and gear is the same kind of limitation. I'd prefer to see areas(instanced if they must be...) that are job/class specific that can't be solo'd, but requires you to find another person or two that matches your job/class to complete. They can call them "Dragoon Trials" or whatever, and increase in difficulty as your progress through them. Still different from the final AF quests, in that these would be limited to only a specific class/job participating and the first "trial" would be readily duoable for 50s. I think it would be easier to create entertaining content for small groups of the same class, then trying to balance a full party of the same class.
Id almost rather see a dungeon for each class like such. Party setup is regular, but whichever class the dungeon is geared towards needs to show their proficiency in said class. For instance, whm dungeon could be similar to aurum vale where you have poison rooms and such. Make them so you have to show what youve learned about the class.
What im describing would be a combination of a mini-dungeon (could be called ordeal of --------) and something akin to maat.

I dunno... a dungeon where you need 8 of any one specific class sounds... really boring. It would require very bizarre mob balancing to work with every different class, there couldn't be any real boss fights for anyone but the WHMS because a harder mob would most likely kill everyone before they could kill it, or it would be undertuned to make sure it doesn't kill everyone before they kill it.
I'd much rather see dungeons with multiple paths that change based on your party make up. Doors or puzzles that require a specific job/class to open, that give different potential rewards based on the path you end up taking.

What would happen:
Day 1: 1000 WHM all spam the instance for completion
Day 10: almost every WHM has completed the instance
Day 100: You spend about 10 hours begging people to job change to their WHM to help you through, but the group falls apart after only getting up to 5 WHMs for a few hours.
It's almost like you never played FFXIV.
Anyway, this is a bad idea merely for the fact stacking is what ruined most content in XIV and why it forced people into classes and jobs they didn't want to play, especially if there's good other incentives.
Here's what you do and something XI did well with some bosses:
You simply create a dungeon with a boss that changes it's immunities or strategies to damage/counter abilities throughout the fight forcing a mixed setup since you can't change while inside or/also include in the dungeon spots where you have to fight a subboss to change the bosses immunity/weaknesses to x. In XI for example it was collecting your lights from the Palace in order to counter Promathia's various chain abilities.
Stacking or Mage/Melee only chambers is a recipe for 1.0 disaster.

Each Job gets there own Dungeon... wouldnt be 1000 WHMS on day 1 cus noone plays WHM. 2... Its not like the drops would be easy toget... think darklight... Day100... Join a LS toget your raids done cus shouting isnt gonna get you skilled players. What would happen:
