Yes Intel HD 4000 is too weak. I did some searching and found all in one computers with touchscreen and playable graphics cards. Found one touchscreen notebooks with decent graphic card. Still searching...Get this thing running on a Windows 8 Pro tablet (Surface or otherwise) and things start to get interesting. However with crap GPUs these things look like they will have, not sure how well it will run.

Edit: For anyone eager for touchscreen for FFXIV, you should wait before buying anything. There's no promise it will be supported.

They don't plan to implement it for PCs, it's more of a gimmick atm, for them to play with. Since Yoshida wants us to play FFXIV anywhere, it's only logical that in future we might see the touch interface on tablets - once they are powerful enough to handle FFXIV.

I can't support anything that would help validate Windows 8.
controller like wii-u or PSvita im all for. i like the big wii-u pad.
you can use a tablet or your phones as a remote touch screen but its laggy. like below on my Xoom i posted awhile ago, not sure how a touchscreen monitor works with the game i dont own one.

I love the idea of touch screen controls. I love the idea of FFXIV on tablets.
Be good to see FFXIV put on the Wii U. Maybe ps4 and new xbox will feature touch screens.
I read somewhere that this game will be compatible with windows 8, and some of it's touch features. I heard small things like moving items around will be available....not sure where I heard it though, pretty sure it's official.
