Why jot down January 7th?

Iirc yoshi said something about showing the book auto attack in the next live letter. It would make sense to me to put out another one since it will be in between alpha and beta. Also, they are gonna need to balance arcanist along with every other class so at this point holding back info on arcanist /smn is irrelevant

To summarize im thinking live letter with arcanist gameplay and some other goodies because let's face it. Yoshi knows the community is suffering die to the downtime and hes gonna want to pull us back in every now and again. Gonna x fingers for it ^^.

On every live letter he posts the date and time well in advance. Since he only offered a date and I doubt he'll get us excited just to post another date for the live letter, I doubt it is a live letter announcement... But since he wants us to come particularly only on january 7 (since he chose to use the words jot down), what he may want to present us could be limited time only...

Pro Tip: Check late Sunday or early Monday before work.

If we're gonna play arcanist in beta (and i sure as hell hope we do because if anything needs to be balaned amd debugged it's a pet class) he might wanna show us that before we can play it or it would make no sense

Great way to get people to play arr beta: show new class footage. We know virtually nothing about arcanist/summoner. Other than the two concept arts from the teaser site which are confusing at best, we got some concept art of weapons. All we know is arcanist is a dot and debuff specialist with carby and books. Look at all the speculation about smn. I dont wanna derail this thread but summoner is way too vague at this point.

And i do think theyve got a bunch more tricks up tneir sleeves we dont know about. I have a feeling it's not just 1 class we're getting. Who knows? That pic could be hinting that they're going to do the whole one class/multiple jobs thing. If an archer can become a bard, why couldnt they become a bst as well XD. Have the mob you charm tank while you sitmback and shoot arrows.

I doubt we'll get any more footage till closed beta. Once closed beta starts I expect there to be beta preview similar to how the alpha had it. We can hear more about the arcanist class through the blog in final fantasy xiv site. Now with auto attack I honestly don't know what much can be seen from auto attack footage. It will probably be like 1.0 where you character just does a melee and I think a regular melee was shown on the battle footage.

I highly doubt there will be any gameplay video of the arcanist/summoner class yet since by now the only real testing done would have been from SE's testers. It would make more sense for them to release a gameplay video of the classes after closed beta comes out and they've properly refined it since what would be the point of showing a video of a character that could be completely changed if (hypothetically) the majority of players deem that it as not fun to use...
