Not exactly "another word", it's just the dative form of it.I think the ödem here is more another word for öde.

Good call. Just that given the realm has been reborn, I'm not confident that "wasteland" is what they are aiming for. We had that in the old Mor Dhona, not the new one. It's... a tough cookie to crack.Hmm, arise. Much better than ressurect to translate erstehen ^^. I edit my translation

I think what the words point to specifically with the last two lines in all translations is that there are two choices and only one at a time. So the swords of light and might or dark and light are referencing to the Umbral and Astral Era designation. Umbral is always a calamity but Astral is following prosperity. So if one would be willing to pick up the mantle of rebuilding if you will that will lead back to the light but that require someone to stop the welder of might or dark which in this case would be the empire as they have ripped a war path towards Eorzea destroying by any means necessary a la Dalamund falling which damages both combatants and innocent civilians.
Mitsuda Yasunori + Soken Masayoshi Track Collaboration 2015! <The Dream>

I'll take a stab at it.
Dawn may banish even the darkest night - Obviously transition from Umbral era into Astral.
Yet ever shall primal desires burn. - A nod towads Bahamut, if not all of the Primals in general.
Two swords shall vie to lay them low--
A blade born of light and a blade forged of might.
Alas, man may entrust his fate unto but one.
My theory on the last few verses...
Ishgard and Garlean.
Ishgard is known as being something of a church ruled archetype (right word? not sure actually). Where, in this game's version, is ruled by their own Pope like figure.
That's my theory on 'Blade born of Light'
and the Garlean Empire, being 'blade forged by might'
Ishgard is more inclined towards the divine, holy influences. Whereas Garlean is against magic, but rather focuses on machineary and industry to work their means into ends. Thus the 'forging' part of the verse.
So, might it be concluded that at some point through the storyline we'll have an option to either procure Garlean technology, either by stealing it and having Cid build us something for our own use. Or something like a temporary alliance with the Garleans if we should do such a thing to lay down Bahamut for mutual need then return to fighting against them.
As one particular old phrase goes "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" albiet tentively.
Simple and to the point, the transition of the Seventh Umbral to the Seventh Astral.Dawn may banish even the darkest night.
Even a catastrophe, such as the Seventh Umbral, could not stop the true nature of man. Greed, war and power still drive the animalistic natures of man whether they be Garlean or Eorzean. Selfish desires will persist even through the hard times.Yet ever shall primal desires burn.
The Eorzean Alliance and the Garlean Empire are the 2 'swords.' The blade born of light doesn't refer to light vs dark or good vs evil, both of those are subjective as everyone views their own ideals as good and opposite views as being evil. Instead the blade born of light means the Eorzean Alliance and the Eorzean people have opened their eyes and realized the threats that have surrounded them, whether it's the Garleans, Primals, Ascians, traitors in their own ranks, or hidden dangers not yet seen. Two swords shall vie to lay them low--
A blade born of light, and a blade forged of might.
The blade forged of might is clearly the Empire under Solus zos Galvus, he rose to power and made the Empire what it is today with his intellect and machina. In contrast with the sword of light, he created the blade, while the Eorzean Alliance was (re)born.
This line doesn't mean much to us as we don't really have much of a choice in that we're adventurers fighting for our Grand Companies and not given the choice to aid the Empire. But story wise, the people of Eorzea could choose to help the Alliance or rollover and allow the Empire, who without van Darnus would probably be more than happy to accept the people into the ranks with a little brainwashing here and there, to do their thing and takeover and destroy the Primals or whatever the true goal is. But the line dictates there is no middle ground, it's one choice or the other. The Seventh Astral depends on this line and the choice that is made.Alas, man may entrust his fate unto but one.

What if in ARR we get to choose between two factions, one of light and one of might? It would certainly be an interesting set up for PvP elements, fighting over Allagan ruins for either a spiritual answer to Bahamut or a mechanical answer.
Just trying to think a bit out of the box...
Gungnir, gugnir, gungir, Odin's weapon.

Think this could be how they tie PvP into the game?

Do I get to pick the sword I want to entrust my fate to?
All I have to say about this:
Is that, "Two Swords" " One Blade "Born" of light" which me me feels like there's going to be a Hero in 2.0, and " One Blade forged of Might" Which to me is the Garland Empire looking for Power to control the lands. Two swords shall vie to lay them low--
A blade born of light and a blade forged of might.
Alas, man may entrust his fate unto but one.
"Man may entrust his fate unto but one" A person ( us) has to decide to be with the side of Power? or the side of Light ( Righteousness).
In the Two Swords.. they Only mention born Once ( on the Light side).. and the Power that's spreading in the Garlands favor, and this " Blade of light" is going to help stop them.
That's how I interpret it anyhow.
