If you are trying to explain Yoshida reasoning for mounts then I don't agree... I think mounts are really only for show and to increase movement speed (this is not to say that some mounts should be faster than others)...

Yoshida said he wanted to make it so that chocobo could fight (I think)... which means that he might give mounts (not the clothing but the actual beasts) different stats that we can raise (chocobo higher evasion and dex than goobue, but goobue higher hp and str than chocobo)...

although now that I think about it, it would make sense that we could give chocobo armor to better defend if they fight but they would probably decrease movement speed rather than increase it since it would probably be heavier and meant for fighting only...

guess you did not understand my post CHOCOBO are for fighting and our main mounts the rest of them are just for fun. Like the drake or the goobbue we got last year. Which mean other mounts or really just for display to look cool using them but if you want to use a mount for battle it would be chocobo due to them having the tree like system which is heal,dps,tank that what i'm saying.
