Now all we need to do is convince Yoshi-P to give you guys your own in game NMs.We discussed the possibilities of including a lifetime subscription for FFXIV with Yoshida. He has researched other company's business models and knows that a few of them do offer lifetime subscriptions. Currently there aren't any plans to offer this option when the game launches, but there's always a possibility it's something that could be made available in the future.

This ↑ would be a awesome thing to see in game. Sorry to derail a bit.
I think lifetime subs wouldn't be a bad idea. For all the same reasons everyone already mentioned in this thread.. It'd be cool to pay for the first few years up front, then have it free for life afterwards. Its clear it could hurt the company if the game ends up being huge in the end.

Not if lifetime subs are only allowed to be purchased in the first year of 2.0.This ↑ would be a awesome thing to see in game. Sorry to derail a bit.

After that, monthly only.
I would buy one. Even at the cost of 2 years of full sub. (over $200)

look at everyone who cried and bitched about Legacy lawl... I support Life time sub but I don't think the community is mature enough to handle it x3
"Thy life is a river to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen to suffer to entrust until tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow"
