Lifetime Subs is usually a sign of change from P2P to F2P ( Hybrid or not). That's the only thing the worries me if they have that option. It's a Personal feeling that I hope "if" they offer it that they don't go F2P.
I think people hate on the idea because they are just haters and stink on everything... there's not any other reason... If they don't like lifetime subs don't buy them, sheesh.
FFXIV was voted least likely to go Free 2 play given FFXI never went free to play and Hiir thinks that game is um... like oatmeal, cold, no sugar. And FFXIV went Free to play and then stopped being free as soon as it could.
The unlikely hood of any free to play in the future makes me want a lifetime sub even more.
Yes FFXIV went F2P, but them being a Multi-Billion dollar Company, they have the Funds and resources to continue the game as if it were a "P2P" game.I think people hate on the idea because they are just haters and stink on everything... there's not any other reason... If they don't like lifetime subs don't buy them, sheesh.

Other companies don't have that type of Cash to Dull out on no income coming out of it. It was a F2P game but it "behaved" like a P2P game. However they can't do that forever without any income, so It's either ARR is Strictly P2P.. or they will go F2P and "Act" like a F2P game this time, with no hope to get out a third time.
