My questions to your questions are:
One, why would you worry about a hacked account if you are using an authenticator?
And two, what is it you are planing on doing that would lead up to a ban of your account?

In total FFXI and FFXIV I have been with one account for +10 years. But then again i have never taken part of anything against the ToA, for a ban... As well i have used the authenticator from day one it was on the market.

Pretty sure all MMO's who have had a lifetime sub option are F2P or completely gone.

Funny thing. None of them is gone. None of them went F2P. F2P and Hybrid are not the same thing.

PS unrelated to the above: Interesting to see that some trolls continue to troll even while I'm vacationing. Not surprising though, as Square Enix fanboys that never played any other MMORPG than Final Fantasy XI and XIV won't really be able to appreciate the value of giving the customerbase *options* as SE has always been one of the worst companies on the market in that. Payments for playonline and then for FFXIV with that click & buy thang are quite a dreadful example in the market. But some will keep quaffing down gallons of koolaid

"I like to pay monthly, so everyone should be forced to".

    yeah, makes perfect sense.

If I like AAR after a month of playing with my existing character then I would go for a lifetime subscription so I support this idea.

I'd rather lose less money and quit with a monthly subscription then quit with a life-time subscription.

What has been 1-2 years? Maybe longer? All I know is that if Black Mage isn't greatly improved, or if arcanist isn't fun to play then by 2.0 release, I am walking.

    ^^This.

As I said before, offering a lifetime sub for a game just reeks of "Hey, we're going to try to cover our asses in case this game doesn't do so well, so buy our lifetime subscription plan and give us lots of money now!" Seriously, no one's trying to force anyone to "pay for a sub model they don't want to" (Gimme a break Abriael ). Both sides have valid reasons for either wanting or not wanting a lifetime sub model.

I, personally, think it would be wise to wait for a while after the game releases to offer it if I were SE. Well, that's if they're gonna do it, which I doubt. SE likes money too much. lol

I would absolutely buy it, but I hope it is never offered. It just seems like a bad omen.

Waiting cancels most of the potential benefits for the developer and vastly increases the potential benefits for the customer.

Regardless, not that many people would buy it, there's no hram in offering it.

    Heya!

Consider that this I'm saying is based off my opinions. Therefore, there's no wrong or right.

No matter how you see it, it's a gamble. People could go 300$ like they could not. If the game is a success and majority of people will go with the Lifetime Subscription, then SE will majorly see 300$ of income from a good bunch of people, simply because the game is amazing and the best thing they ever played, experienced.
On the other hand, the game could be normally good, or a failure, so the 300$ from people who believed the game was fantastic will take an onion up their arses, while SE will enjoy their moneys.

In my opinion, if you are sure that the game is amazing and it will make every player jizz in their shoes, you would not consider a Lifetime Subscription, because once you receive those moneys, people will enjoy it even after 20 years, and you will lose all of the rest of their moneys Fo Evar.

On the other part, if you are not so confident about the game you could be a badass and go with the Lifetime Subscription, so players with high hope for the game will go that route and then taste the red hot chili pepper with all of its seme... se... sements... *checks google* seeds.

For me? I would be happy paying once per year! Like that I both have good funs while working and at the same time support SE for their awesome job~
