I've heard of some limited time offers with this sort of system that worked rather well. Makes me sad that I missed them all considering how much I spent on those games afterwards XD Maybe they should make this a limited time thing too. Say it's only available in the first month or something, for those who really want to take a gamble from the very start, and then offer no longer buyable lifetime subs as competition prizes in the future. That's how Jagex does it and they've been doing it for a long time without any detrimental effects that I'm aware of. Really wish I'd bought one all those years ago...
SE, please let me buy a FFXIV:ARR lifetime sub! I'd be happy to pay up to $500 for it! More if necessary but please keep it reasonable...
I would refuse to pay them a life sub. I chose to play XI for over seven years, thus paying over £1000 in that time frame, plus expansions and keys and what not.
Think the company liked that more than me going "I'll give you 30 percent of that you would normally earn". After all, new shineys require a steady flow for things to go smoothly. Run out of money then you lose your game and people lose their jobs. gotta pay bills as well as staff after all.
So I'll stick with the rational method to support the company I admire.
Why would you want a lifetime subscription if your account we're banned or hacked? You would need to buy another lifetime subscription on a new account. I don't think people would opt-in on this type of contract. You give them several hundred dollars but they still have the right to terminate your account at anytime without reason.

You can reclaim a hacked account most of the time (The success rate is pretty high), but as long as you're not doing anything questionable then you wouldn't have to worry about getting bannedWhy would you want a lifetime subscription if your account we're banned or hacked? Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means
