Will they be any incentives for FFXI players to try out ARR?

SE are you going to give any bonus to FFXI players for playing ARR? Like the discount for playing both like what was given in the past?

Maybe like subscribe to ARR and get FFXI for only $5 a month. I know a lot of players who still play FFXI but are not willing to try FFXIV for various reasons (attached to their FFXI character, don't want to play another mmo that's not like FFXI, heard bad reviews about 14.)

With the 5th FFXI expansion Seekers of Adoulin releasing on March 26th, this could be an ARR killer for some people. ARR may be released in July or so according to the time line but if FFXI players are content with the new expansion they might not even try ARR at all.

FFXI for only 5$ a month? Are you kidding? Lol They'd be shooting themselves in the foot setting the price that low.

And really, a perk (lower sub cost) won't be the key to baiting these folks into ARR. It'll be through promotion. There is no reason to try and bribe XI players into XIV..if they're curious they will check it out on their own.

Unlikely. there was a discount for joint memberships since september but that is now gone... they may be returned one day but likely not on release...

I actually wouldn't be surprised if they brought this back since they did it the first time. But I would bet money that it would only apply to new registrations of XIV, not existing service accounts.

had that bonus for playing both but not anymore, i do hope to get that bonus again and looking forward to that new expention for XI. looks very promising.

actually 7.99 for XI like before if both are currently active. 5$ i wish!! >.<

I'd rather they focus more on making playing both games together a more viable option. Without any sort of social list integration between the two games, XI and XIV together felt too much like an either/or proposition, having to decide which group of friends to forsake on a given night.

you make it seem like Seekers is going to bring in a large cash crop of FFXI gamers in and back >.>... sure its nostalgic seeing the trailer and I really wanna go back because the environments are amazing... and then I see the simplistic npcs and remember how beyond story there is really not much to do... FFXIVs cash crop won't be from FFXI >.> and I doubt those players make that big of an impact on FFXIV anyways

As much as I like FFXI and wish to go back, my character and his levels are way low (I didn't have enough time in the past to play FFXI, and my character's levels aren't even at Lv40; they are even and all around Lv25 with some Lv35+) and all of my friends no longer play the game. Plus with FFXIV, it's so much easier to play. FFXI feels too archaic to even try again. At least I have the soundtracks to bring back the memories.
