Sword Art Online is not dubbed but excellently subtitled in English... and its great selling point is that it has superbly written characters and a very solid story. Without spoiling it for you, the synopsis is very clever and generally revolves around the completion of 100 floors of PvE and dungeons (with each floor having its own unique city).
This is one reason why everyone who is familiar with the SAO anime are also excited about Yoshi's hints regarding the crystal tower in ARR... log off before completing it and you lose everything? Perhaps on floor 99 we fight Bahamut, floor 100 is Yoshi and the Dev Team... and then on "Hidden floor 101" we fight CEO President Wada?
As for the dothack series (especially the G.U trilogy with Haseo), I'm also a huge fan as well... loved that trilogy and my first linkshell I created on FFXIV 1.0 was actually called Icolo. And if you are very intuitive, you will also notice several loose similarities to 1.0. Heck, when people finally got into Ul'Dah back in 2010, there was a brief but excited discussion on other forums that it resembled a more polished version of the dothack city Mac Anu... (see image below)
The great news about the ARR housing system also brought some brief happy discussions about the dothack system; whereby the two largest guilds in the game had entire areas to themselves. From what we see, the free company guild houses are truly massive and I can't wait to see how large the chocobo stables, gardens etc will be.
So yeah... watch Sword Art Online when you get a chance. 25 solid episodes of epicness.
