I would like to know why the Alpha forums are still up, running and not closed? ARR: alpha client is closed now, they should close the alpha forums as well. They need to send those pitbulls over here to these forums to get a chocobo stomping.

The forums have been closed for awhile now. Still possible to peruse them if you have access tho.

And yes, there is a Beta client that technically *could* be demo'ed, but they still have to apply all the fixes and feedback issues they received from Alpha testers. This is why there's the inbetween delay from offline Alpha to start of Beta. :3

A large number of the people on the alpha forums can't post here because they weren't actually playing 1.0 XIV. You lose access to these forums if you hadn't logged into XIV in 30 days, even if your service account is still active. Probably why we haven't had a crapstorm about legacy players getting into beta phase 1 yet. Pretty much the only people left on the lodestone forums are legacy people. LOL

Bound to happen cause you have like 90% of the population wanting to play dps, and the other 10% playing tank or healer.

thats good for me, i like being a tank, next is support finally dd when i need a break or just wanna relax. nice to know (hopefully) in 2.0 i will be much in demand better to have that then the opposite.

Also, the video looks phenomenal. I have no doubts this is gonna be the epic FF game it should have been. Looking forward to seeing further refinements in Beta.

I don't think this will happen on XIV, at the beginning of the game at least, there are a ton of warriors and some paladin.

After playing tera & wow, trust me wanting to play a DD class gets very old very fast when seeking a party with dungeon finder. This robot chicken clip comes to mind when I seek party as DD after dungeon finder first went into full effect on those games and slowly saw the reality of it(as a dps/dd).

My hope is you won't have to be a TANK role to actually tank. Perhaps jobs with heavy armor can tank, although not as effectively as jobs designed to TANK. Same with healers. Otherwise there is bound to be a shortage since there is only 1 dedicated healer at the moment and the armoury system forces traditional white magic (Cure, Protect, Regen, etc) into WHM-specific thereby not allowing other roles to use it. Guess that all could change with rebalancing.
