Dungeon looks well put together. Can't wait to try it out. I wonder if there will be background music along with the battle theme. I understand it is alpha and may not be in there for now. If so, I wonder if dungeons will get their own theme, or will have one set theme like the old FFXIV.
Also, is a timer really necessary now? Not many other MMO's practice this in instanced dungeons. Some people like to take time to figure things out instead of being bound by a timer. Speed run can be calculated without it and since speed runs don't determine reward anymore, I don't see the need for the timer at all. Again, this may be there for alpha purposes only, but that is simply my take on the timer.
Although I am forbidden to speak of anything in the Alpha from the NDA I WILL say that I played this dungeon in Alpha a bunch of times and it is VERY fun! And I am sure Square will tweak it and make it even better when the game launches. ALSO this dungeon is LOWER LVL and I am sure the higher lvl ones will be even more fun and challenging!
awesome ending... i love it

This thread can be summed up in 2 different categories
"I don't like the battle system, it looks boring and repetitive"
and
"You are an idiot, its just alpha you have no right to talk, go play a different game, we don't want you here anyways, stop criticizing the final fantasy franchise because I love everything square enix shoves down my throat""I don't like the battle system, it looks boring and repetitive"
Jesus christ these forums have gone to shit since the alpha came out.

My job was to test haters' mind and punch them in the face who keep giving evil/lie feedback. This thread can be summed up in 2 different categories

Yea, well, the forums have been shit since they launched. You think these forums are bad? You should see the......"other" one.
All I will say is the A LOT of people are not happy with the combat system in its current, ALPHA, form. Beta will add missing elements so I would just recommend people waiting for BETA. If you are unhappy about something in Beta be vocal about it. Constructive criticism is going to be what makes this game amazing. What will NOT help make ARR amazing is letting every small upgrade from 1.0 blind you from really fixing problems or even making something that works so much better.
Oh and here is some loving advice to all the lovely testers for Beta. If you are unhappy about something and wish to make it better please avoid this kinda post.....
"Game is garbage, EVERYTHING sucks! Battle system is like......its like bad man! Quest are like the same shit over and over, like WoW or some shit! F2P! Grass! Lich King! I hate everything you love!"
That isnt as super helpful as you might think. I know right?
"Game looks like a lot of hard work went into it. Battle system is lackluster but I have these ideas to make it better *ideas here*. Quest are.......quest. They work well and can be a tad boring but maybe *idea* could make them more enjoyableGrass is green as effff! F2P is stupid and I hate everyone who wants it out the door(SORRY haha). I really enjoyed the Lich King(No you didnt) in WoW and hope that Bahamut bring me fond memories. I LOVE everything you hate."
I honestly prefer to see post that are giving constructive criticism over a rant of praise because its obvious this game is not going to be perfect unless all of the testers really dig hard into Betaeven after that "perfect" is unrealistic but it can be fricken amazing!
Oh and before I go to wait for some forum hate that is ABSOLUTELY necessary because I hurt someones feelings with my gentle post.........I will just say remember when you see someone just tearing into things about Alpha/Beta about everything they hate or think is bad. It is because they are afraid 1.0 will happen again. Like most of us they prob did Alpha/Beta before and assumed shit would get fixed just to find out how wrong they were. They wouldnt post unless deep down inside they really cared about ARR success, to us and for SE. They are just angry over something that should not have happened and they know the new team is trying to make it all better for us. So try and cut them a break, give em a cuddle![]()
Sorry for bad grammar and sentence structure. I am playing Demons Souls as I typed this up so some of you know whats up!

Sad that this happens despite Yoshida mentioning that alpha is more for stress testing than anything else.Yea, well, the forums have been shit since they launched. You think these forums are bad? You should see the......"other" one.

I can't imagine why people would be having a problem with the new battle system, outside of the whole "i wanna be different for the sake of being different" thing. It looks lively and fast-paced, at least to me who has played fast-paced systems before.
I did find it interesting that they had a dragoon tanking, and am surprised no one else has mentioned it. Then again, they had two white mages too.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

There is only lancer, conjurer, and archer in alpha version. We will probably have lancers tanking it in beta too if tam-tara is involved in a 'tutorial' quest from gridania. Gridania doesnt have any tank class guilds.Sad that this happens despite Yoshida mentioning that alpha is more for stress testing than anything else.

Looks good to me. That ending was such a tease.
