Every mimic fails to capture the popularity of the original...well...most of the time.

Well that depends. If enough people live and work near by it'll do just fine. However if its out of the way, you don't already live in the area and none of your friends live in the area, why go here when you get the same experience without going out of your way? It'll happen, but I doubt it would support the restaurant financially.
