    Is the game really going to have a GCD system?

    I don't know if this was posted or talked about, but in all the videos I seen there is a GCD on the battle system, this to me seems boring, you click a ability and wait, then click same ability and wait some more. I really don't see the reasoning for the whole GCD mechanic. I would like to see longer CDs on spells.

    GCD when you get higher level it be less with gear,and level and others i bet they fix it tho due to everyone crying for low level.

    Well what I mean is, you hit spell one it will be on CD, hit spell 2 that and one will be a cool down then spell 3 by that time spell one is up and ready to use but not all share a cd

    The current GCD system is far more entertaining than the last iteration that was IN the game. Wait for TP, yay a move! Sit around for TP, yay another move! so on so on.

    ^ This. I feel they should have every skill have its own cool down as well.

    ....you know what, scratch that, I don't know what Yoshi and the battle team are planning yet with the new battle system. Because having the gcd does make combat faster compared to having each ability having its own cool down. I'm gonna wait for beta, when the game has everything opened.

    I Don't mind the GCD, there's nothing special about it. All it's doing is preventing ability spam. ATM we don't know if higher tier spells will have a longer cool down or now. Wait till beta when they have/show higher tiered spells and abilities.
    All current spells and abilities are lvl 20 or lower as it seems the cap is 20.

    1.0 has a GCD it's called animation lock. Since SE removed animation lock so there has to be a way to prevent spamming all your abilities at once. There will be arguments how long it should be. I would prefer a longer GCD then a short one. Longer GCD gives you more time think of what ability to use next. Short GCD you end up just doing a set rotation of abilities, plus it hurts my fingers

    Don't think all cooldowns will be the time of the GCD. Certain abilities will be longer.

    Edit: My opinion change, If there's no GCD there will have to be a unique CD on each ability I observed this while playing GW2. GW2 has 4 main abilities per weapon excluding auto attack so there's not a ton of abilities you can spam also some of these are channeled.

    just because you want to think long on what skill to use doesn't mean they should have long GCD
    having no GCD would mean skill spam, and you'd run out of TP right away, then only AA anyways. so the more you think about what to use, the longer your TP last. Either way i dont see why it would take so long to pick what to use ...it would be annoying to wait more than 4 sec to use whatever skill.
    ofc there'll be skills with longer than 4sec cd. would be silly if you could use flare or whatever every 4 seconds.

    Animation lock in 1.0 prevents you from moving, but you can still use abilities and WS in succession. You just can't see it through the animation.

    GCD creates an artificial urgency where it seems like you have to act every three seconds or you're wasting time/resources. It's like the stamina bar all over again. Making it longer would be tedious. Making it shorter would be chaos.

    I think it's better to lose the GCD and return to individual timers. That way, all your combos and abilities are compartmentalized and flow from one to the next.

    1.0: Combo Step 1 > Combo Step 2 > Combo Step 3 > This combo set is now on cooldown
    2.0 alpha: Combo Step 1 > 3s > Combo Step 2 > 3s > Combo Step 3 > 3s to the next thing
