* Like throwing a huge party, forgetting the time, and showing up after everyone's gone home.
* Like revisiting your childhood home after years and finding it abandoned before someone plans to tear it down.
* Like returning to your elementary school after graduating from high school and finding out they closed it down with intention of later building a brand new one.

And for the totally pointless ones...

* Like eating the most delicious burritos you've ever had, farting in a jar, saving it for years. Eventually you open it up again and realize just how bad it was but it brings back fond memories of those burritos you enjoyed.

FFXIV is like a delicious burrito but the hidden effect it had was like a horrendous fart in the aftermath. Returning to it now you're reminded just how bad it stinks to the farts you'll have from that new burrito they're offering soon, but at the same time you're reminded of how wonderful that first burrito you had truly was. That my friends, is FFXIV.
