guess you have a good server, + i have a hard time getting my points across clearly, i didn't mean that everyone was an ass i just meant that people are less likely to help out in a game like FFXIV oppose to something like WOW or GWAnyone that knows how much the game has improved since 1.x can't say anything because of NDA. I can tell you a few things though, many of the things you mentioned were afterthoughts to 2.0 and added in at the request of us, the fans.
Also, everyone I've met in this game has been super friendly or quirky. Even in earlier 1.x, players were helpful and nice, so I honestly don't know where you got the feeling of hostility.

You must have been doing something wrong then because FFXIV players aren't nearly as aggressive as the lot in WoW crowd. XIV has a strong community base, and personally, I met a lot of folks who played regularly that were actually older than me (I'm 31) and didn't have the "0mGz L3et GearZ L0okit mY ePeen!". Of course there's always going to be asshats, but that comes with any group, and any community.
I just never really had a bad experience or met anyone that was overly hostile. In fact, the reason I even came back and stayed in game was because of a linkshell helping me re-familiarize myself with the game after I'd been unable to play due to hectic school schedule. It was very hard to come back and pick up after so much had changed, but they helped me through it all without so much as a complaint.
You probably just hung out with a wrong crowd or something.

for Christ sake man i was not and haven't been treated badly that's not what i said, i was treated well and had my own linkshell for a while that did well, if you actually read what i posted i was suggesting that the game style dose not leave a great deal of players wanting to freely help one another the game is based on groups of 7 but most people just play with there guilds and thats because of the way the game is made if you cant understand that or agree with it that is fine but don't twist my wordsYou must have been doing something wrong then because FFXIV players aren't nearly as aggressive as the lot in WoW crowd. well... for Forum etiquette, one usually use search for the topic if there is, and post it there. Not making a new one unless there is already an existing one.. .
But generation nowadays are very much too hasty and lazy. :3
But forum etiquette also says that if a thread hasn't been posted in after so long, the thread should be considered dead, and a new one should be started.
Posting several threads saying the same thing in rapid succession is bad.
Posting in a thread that hasn't had any activity in 7 months is also bad.

Breaking one's NDA, posting in the incorrect forums, spamming and using offensive slurs are all usually considered bad forum etiquette, and probably justify not taking a poster very seriously.
OP...How do you know how ARR will stack up to other MMOs? If you don't want to play ARR after it's released, then don't.
Just put all of your faith in YoshiP and the Dev Team, because they have a habit of performing miracles.![]()
It isn't "miracles" as much as it is "working your asses off 20 hours a day". I think Yoshi-P would agree the true heroes of FFXIV are cigarettes and coffee.
