Games like Guild wars 2 have the right idea, by eliminating pointless, annoying and meaningless content

I'm working on my 4th level 80 in GW2, I can barely stomach the pointless, annoying meaningless content that makes up GW2

I've played through the same boring story 4 times, have completed the same maps 4 times, and have done every single dynamic (lol "dynamic") event 4 times. I'll not be making a 5th character.

The only reason to log into GW2 anymore is to play in WvW which is getting boring fast it's either my server dominates or it's a giant runaround where zerg follows zerg where all you do for hours is capture > lose > retake ground.

If FFXIV takes anything away from GW2 it should be the events where everyone participates and is rewarded. But I'm pretty sure GW2 stole that from FFXI it was known as campaign.

i did not say GW2 was perfect i used it as an example and said they had the right idea, an idea is one thing a finished product is another and if SE takes good ideas they can deliver a better product then the compatition

GW2 is bad for the following reasons:

Gear check's are "optional". You don't need gear to do ANY content. (Can run around in gear that you picked up from the dumpster).

You can't examine someone to see if their gear is bad.

New content is always glitched on release, like always.

Painfully easy storyline missions. (Actually all the content)

Can't level other jobs on same toon, terrible.

Does not support controller usage (Oh go download pinaacle and pay 25 bucks after 30 days no thanks.)

Good things from GW2:

TP sale system, being able to sell from anywhere is amazing.

Dungeon drops scaling as per your level, amazing. Keeps all content relative.

Legendary weapons are much harder than FFXIV relics, and most other "end game weapons in MMO's"

Crafting gives you "job" levels, nice addition.

I'm sure there are more, but that's just off the top of the dome.

that's why there's alpha, where people can give suggestions etc, to make changes.
that's why the game isn't even out yet, cause...they are working on improving it, so it's as good as it can be when they release it...
they already made many good changes, and many more good changes are coming.
So before you complain on a game in alpha stage vs a game that is already finished....you can wait a bit and try the game when it's ACTUALLY released, before complaining of how bad it is, and how other games are better.
I tried GW2 for free during event, and it wasn't very fun at all.
Like you said yourself, a finished product is another thing...

Go check on PSO2. Its will be F2P and look really nice. Character Costumisation is way better then FFXIV, Loot is unique to every players in their screen. No more fight to who deserve that item or this one. Every one got something. The Party system sounds cool. Honestly i played FFXIV for year and if ARR is not good, there is other game that can give me exactly what im looking for. The only reason why i kept playing is because i like FF series and have big hope for ARR. But the way the game is going im afraid they are going to lose me. I agree with everything you sayd Virgal.

Lol Pepeol here cant talk about yoshi and FFXIV.ARR unless its for positive feedback. Express you'r opinion but you better do it the same way everyone does.
