    If the exp gain is different, if droprates are different you can't allow transfers without messing up the ballance. And in WOW transfers between PvP and PvE been inpossible for long time.

    And Stuff like perma death, slow exp, low drop rates might be interesting for a few ppl but they would be soon on ghost servers and couldnt move.

    Ya but this gonna happen, and thats one of the reasons why SE never gonna offer these Servertypes, they wan't to make money with FFXIV and with servers like that they would loose money.

    I don't understand why catering to a wider range of players would make Square lose money. More players = mroe subscriptions = more money.

    And the servers don't need to differentiate between drop rates, that was an example, I don't know what the differences would be, but I guess they would make them so a server transfer won't be a problem.

    Cause offering an extra servertype costs money, if as long you don't have enough players to fill these servertypes (and this won't happen cause all these examples would be for a really small part of the players) they gonna loose money with it. Cause what gonna happen if you on a low population server, you want to move to one with more people, if a transfer is not possible you will start a new char on another server.

    Those examples all haven an major impact in balance and that's why transfers would be impossible. Just imagine how the community would complain if ppl level their chars on a server with double exp and than jump to a normal server.

    Well the OP's idea is never going to happen but it would be fun to have a server that existing characters cannot join, new characters only.

    Hmm small amount of players... like trying to get the 500k players of FFXI into XIV... for example?

    But Why FFXI players want waste more time for getting the final content? LOL
    You're right, not all wanna get the cap fast (me too) but in an MMORPG you are free to make what you want!
    So if there is someone wanna make lv50 in 2 years.. He is free to do it! even with the same exp :|

    Cause there is no point in opening Servertypes they would have to close after a few months again cause nobody would play anymore on them or so few ppl that it just makes no sense. You could allow ppl from a low exp server to transfer to normal, but how i allready pointed out a few times you can't let ppl from a high exp or drop server jump to normal ones.

    A company want's to make money, so they don't want to offer options that will only cause problems. But this will never happen anyway so no point in discussion about this anymore.
