    I've seen in-game NPCs that wear a cowl + mask combination, so maybe it's a possibility in the future.

    See, I thought the same thing! Then again, there are NPCs that also have what are supposedly Arcanist weapons, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

    NPCs have it so sweet in this game, what with their silk, golden embroidered gowns, raptor leather onion shoes, and elaborate samurai helmets...

    I just want the Black Mage gear Yoshi-P showed off, running around looking like Vivi...and not caring that thousands of other Lalafell conjurers do too, haha.
