He never said ever that current players had first come first serve he said a long time ago that he wanted people who don't play the game to give feed back and we had a thread just like this with people crying in it.Paying customers that are clearly told something and then that something is not honored, have a right to be disappointed and frustrated. The extent of that disappointment and frustration can vary between individuals, but I see nothing wrong with it.
Company: "Only our paying customers are entitled to this product/service."
Paying customer: "Yay!"
*Company delivers product/service to people that aren't paying customers, while leaving out a large number of paying customers.
Paying customer: "WTF?!"
I would say frustration and disappointment are entirely justified, but hey, you're entitled to your own opinion.
"- Must currently have an active FINAL FANTASY XIV account"
Not sure what part of it you do not understand. I would paraphrase for your sake, but I'm not really sure how to make it clearer than that.

Everyone breaks the rules sometimes, it's called "bending" the rules. :P. Yes they shouldn't have put it on the Application page, but what can you do about it really? Alpha is over ( practically) so no need to cry about it now. onward to Beta I say for the next batch of QQ's!![]()
That doesn't work so well when you're a company dealing with paying customers. It's called losing customer trust. Which is exactly what Square Enix should avoid like the plague, given its recent history.
if you want something, you don't put in writing a rule that conflicts with it. It's that simple. Whatever he wants doesn't change the fact that Square Enix put in writing a rule that reserved application to the alpha to paying customers. Which makes it obvious that paying customers aren't happy to see that rule not honored.
You may want to reassess the situation, because you are obviously oblivious of the facts, and writing without knowing what you're writing about doesn't help your argument. Inactive accounts are able to apply to the alpha and they have been for a while (while initially they weren't) and that's why they're getting selected. People tried. It works. They can't sign up cause they can't play the game but he wants them in anyway so the non active players could give feedback. I still don't see whats so hard to understand about that. You only needed an Active FF XIV account to APPLY not get in.
