Really? If those "business classes" (lemonade kiosk 101?) taught you that it's a good idea to try and lure back in those that quit an incomplete product with an even less complete product, you may want to ask for your money back.

Only that those that "destroyed" the old game all work for Square Enix. The audience had no infuence in it.

It's amazing how some people grasp desperately at totally unrealistic straws in order to try and defend a ridiculous decision under every point of view.

Maybe the selection of inactive accounts came from a different process than the form we filled out saying active accounts only. Maybe SE has invited people who have never played FFXIV ever. SE has the freedom to grant access to whomever it chooses. One of those was to invite us to fill out that alpha form.

We know SE has already invited people to the beta, and just for coming to see their presentation at a German games convention earlier this year. A nonsensical reaction would be "How fair is that?" A more sensible reaction would be: Congrats to those people, and how gracious of SE. (IMHO of course.)

It makes me sad that a lot of people view their not being selected as if SE specifically looked at them and decided they were undeserving. Just as with Gamescom, SE didn't decide that everyone outside that room was bad, or not good enough, etc. It's just one of those random things.

As far as we know Se might give legacy members a earlier start date, similar to Gw2 or Tera giving pre ordered accounts a week start.

Like I said before I never made XIV's A/B phase but the majority of my friends who did, didn't want to play after the beta/alpha. It's not always a bad thing, not being chosen.

That's the point of an application process with very specific requirements. Clearly, something was lost in the sorting processing.

With all due respect, it seems to me that you're grasping at straws, rather desperately too.

If you have "just too many applications", letting even more (all the inactives) in doesn't seem the smartest way to solve the problem.

The active community is very diverse. It doesn't make the slightest sense to argue that they wouldn't have been able to select exactly the same hardware/connection/geographical pool only between them.

Please, really, stop grasping at straws. It's unbecoming. Keeping selection limited to active accounts as clearly and explicitly stated would have "screwed" nothing.

Get all legacy members or try to get as many different hardware as possible to test?
