Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~

Yeah i really hope the dev's answer this thread. I still haven't recieved an alpha invite as of yet and i can confirm that one of my freinds has had an inactive account since aug, 2011 and they applied for the beta ( the first wave ) 2 days ahead of it and somehow got choosen.
ALSO most of the fools that are posting against this thread are those fools who had inactive account and HAS been accepted to the alpha. I can confirm it as well. Seeing how i know some freinds who has alpha status.

This thread needs to die.

Ok, let's get this set up straight. "Active" does not mean you were paying for the game. You can still have an active account and not have any Character Slots paid for.
This is a screencap from my personal account. FINAL FANTASY XIV 1 was some weird account that got set up during the beta test that has never had any content tied to it, yet it's showing as active on my account. So, when the game went free to play, all accounts were set to active, yet you still had to tell your profile you wanted a character slot in order to play. Two entirely different things.
Enough of the butthurt that you didn't get selected to play the alpha. It's a damn alpha test, not a demo...

My Final Fantasy XIV 1 account is canceled.
But apparently it can be reactivated without any trouble.
Yes please it's just one major headache.Enough of the butthurt that you didn't get selected to play the alpha.

Abriael you need to let it go. It's gone beyond disappointment to scapegoating and shifting blame to make yourself feel better. Alpha is almost over and you're still screaming bloody murder. Learn some patience and wait for Beta, which will be the better product to play on.

I'm not sure why should I? My concerns haven't been addressed in any way. The funny part is that if you check every single one of my post, I'm always responding. I never bring it up on my initiative. Someone simply has to fix misinformation when it happens, or at least some of it.Abriael you need to let it go. I'm not exactly sure why I should "let it go", while those that don't miss any chance to antagonize those that have a problem with this issue don't. I mean, I'm sure they'd love it, so they could throw their petty "butthurt" or "u mad" undisturbed, but I still don't see a solid reason to.
Only that any number of people tried applying with lapsed accounts when the application was opened, and were bounced telling them that their account wasn't active. I tested it myself with my mule account. But hey feel free to disbelieve it if floats your boat.
Mind you. Square Enix said absolutely nothing on the issue, which is exactly the problem.
I'm not upset at how unfair the lottery system is. I just look with a certain amount of contempt to a company that sets a rule for a lottery system, explicitly specifies it, and then doesn't honor it.
It's simply bad business, and I'd rather SE drop the bad business.

my girlfriend has a crappy laptop and did never apply.
guess i should check her mail, too.

Because its' reached beyond the "oh I didn't get in bummer" to an all out ragefest on your part. Nobody has had this enduring anger on here but you, and that's partly the reason why people keep bringing you up. You're like a screaming kid stomping his foot, then covers his ears not wanting to listen to reason because you're not being told what you want to hear.
I've raised the concerns regarding the possible oversight on SE's part, or the screenshots posted above by Good Sir Doctor Beatbox, but you're too lost in your own anger to pay attention to any of this. You're repeating the same thing over and over and over. Your tantrums certainly aren't going to get any answers from the Devs, especially in a thread where the OP says "you better!"
It's time to let it go and move on. There's others who didn't get in. You are not the only one.
