hmmm?? if they didnt apply, then it confirms that SE did blind invite.lol.. if they did apply, Im fine with it, but are you sure they do it with active FF XIV account?Goodness. I can confirm you will get an error message stating you must have an active FFXIV account if you try to apply with one that isn't. To reiterate what MrKupo said, even if you can only apply with an active account, it doesn't mean nor imply that SE will only send invites to active FFXIV players. They can very well choose other players who did not apply but have played FFXIV before. As a matter of fact someone I know got an invitation but never applied. Edit: or at least they don't remember applying.
And btw, what's your definition of "active" account? "Active" doesn't only mean something's being used, it can also mean that it's "working". I haven't played FFXI in ages and to my knowledge, my FFXI account still works even if I don't use it. I can log on, pay up and continue playing whenever I want. That doesn't sound very inactive to me. It would be inactive if I decided to delete it.
this is not matter of who deserve who isnt. But consistency of the system.
But I give benefit of doubt to SE, because they KNOWN as not-so-good company at managing accounts. lol
Aion Zwei - Masamune
Lol People are still complaining about this common now we all want to play "patience" please
If that is true, then I'm willing to bet SE didn't even use that application site, and just randomly chose people that currently have or ever have had a FFXIV account as a candidate for alpha. Either way, true or not, this whole thing just has a "stink" about it, lol.

reading comprehension lacking.Application requirements:
- Must currently have an active FINAL FANTASY XIV account
So inactive accounts obviously do not fulfill the requirements for alpha.
Still they're getting invites.
And i dont got invites when Alpha close in a week.............
My friends got his account innactive since December 2011 but he got invites on the 1rst N/A waves.......what the *****
sorry to say this but SE never said they wont invite active accounts. like you quoted all they said is that you need an active account but active does not mean playing ffxiv but haveing an account and ffxiv registred at on time.
besides SE can invite whoever they want.
Don't say that 'round these here parts. You're likely to get lynched and burned at the stake.reading comprehension lacking.

To be perfectly honest I never applied for alpha and will probably never play beta. I know I'm not productive as a tester, and as a player I'd rather wait until everything is actually ready to be played.
This OP is complete bullshit. I'm in alpha no one there is on an inactive account. This is in NO way the RIGHT way to get the devs attention. How incredibly disrespectful.
nice try.
yes Sir, obviously someone who is actually playing alpha has an active account.
that does not mean they had an active FFXIV account when they applied.
