Holiday style games would be nice, and a halloween event in addition to what we already have would basically cover every holiday i would want/expect them to.(Maybe Mardi Gras or dia de los muertos would be nice)

I'll be honest, I'd really like to see some new gear in future events. It doesn't have to be something epic, but I was pretty happy with the santa suits (so festive!) and the usagi helms (not to my personal taste, but still neat). Perhaps some heart-themed jewelry for valentine's day, or a red rose to tuck behind your character's ear. And some tropical themed items for a summer event would be fun, maybe exotic flower wristlets and crowns and some sort of more light, more brightly colored tunic top.
Maybe some holiday exclusive sidequests would be a neat way to have players get event items. Items could come in more than one rank, so there would be a "go kill stuff to get a neat piece of holiday gear you can use" for everyone. Or heck, it could be just the item (or one of the items) needed to craft the gear, with the crafting rank being about the same as the finished item's rank.
The idea of shows/events sounds fun too! The cities all have amphitheater type places, those would be the perfect venue for a holiday event. Not sure how well that would work with a significantly larger server population, though. xD Parades and costume events sound like a blast as well, though that also sounds more like something that the players would organize.

That sounds so much fun :S can't wait for the events in FFXIV to be like that lol

Can't wait for the one year anniversary, maybe they'll revamp everything back to what it was like on release day, and for an entire day if people can do various tasks that were difficult to do(or just took a long time), you get rewarded with various pieces of a set of armor.

Last idea is just fantastic, also if a Developer party of some sort were to happen. Say if it was the anniversary of release of FFXIV or something.I like them, i love when you get unique gear/casual clothing.
Mini games would be fun!
I would much appreciate life events, there should be festivals where people dress up, gather, socialize and maybe take part in some events held by GMs even if its something as simple as making a raze around Uldah
Developer could sometimes hold a short speech or something….
Concerts would be fun!
I would love to have a Opera house that would play all sorts of tracks from all the FF titles.

I'm kinda hoping when they start up Fanfests in the US again they do one on the westcoast in Cali, and one on the east coast in Atlanta or somewhere so that people don't have to cross the Mississippi to come see.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

January: New Year's event. Content: Maybe fireworks, visit a shrine/temple for event items.
February: Valentine's Day. Content: Delivering Valetines to NPCs/trading Valentines. Get "Valentine" gear.
March: Nothing really I can think of.
April: Egg hunt works. Content: Instead of talking a specific NPC for eggs and trading, they should have a bunch of ??? marks show up all over the world. You could then search these to get the eggs.
May: Spring event. Content: Cherry blossoms and a "picture taking" event. You would be given hints about a certain location and you would have to go and "take a picture" of the area for rewards.
June: No good ideas.
July: Midsummer festival. Content: Fireworks and music. Also should have giant bonfires or a fire festival in general and include something involving dancing. For example, add multiple dances like they did for FFXI. Then you would have to find NPCs and do specific dances or a combination (chain) of dances in the right order.
August: No good ideas.
September: Harvest festival? Content: Autumn looks. Poetry competition. Riddles or puzzles involving poetry.
October: Halloween. Content: Costume items. Trick or Treat (visit different NPCs to collect items... get certain combos for better items).
November: No good ideas.
December: Winter holidays. Content: Dream gear. Deliver presents to NPCs.

I'd very much enjoy more seasonal events based on traditional japanese holidays. I had western holidays events for years and years on other games, so I enjoy quite a lot the "holiday cultural exchange"
@Kaedan: March = White Day![]()
KEGBRAWL.
I really really really
REALLY
look forward to the Halloween and Summer events in XIV, especially if it means I get a nightmare tunic or a yukata.
I'm a big fan of costume...ey things. lol

the eerie cloak was awesome in XI. I'd love to see how it looks in XIV.

There are allot of great ideas here and hope this gets some dev attention to. Bells are nice for items but shouldnt be the whole event. I think the snowball fight and opera house are great ideas. I think also with the opera houses they should do plays like the back story of the valentines event in xi and have the audience particapate in some way. Also the opera house can be used for every event. Keep the good ideas coming! Looking forward to reading more ^^.
