Snowball fights in GW2 should be epic.

But on the subject of FFXIV.. There should be more fireworks! Either for New Years or for a "Summer Festival", similar to FFXI.

look forward to the Halloween and Summer events in XIV, especially if it means I get a nightmare tunic or a yukata.

I'm a big fan of costume...ey things. lol

I think they should keep advancing the "Year of Animal Armor" started this year with the Usagi Kabuto.

Each year on the New Years they release an Armor helm based off the animal for that year (Rabbit for 2011) Then every other month they release Body, Hand, Leg and Feet, to accompany the armor. This way the Celebration for that year lasts the whole year. They can blend it in with another ceremony or event or try and keep it separate. But I think it would be an interesting thing. Especially if at Newyears the next year you have a chance to get the items you are missing from last years event.

One thing that throws me off about in-game events is that in real world time, the event goes on for maybe fourteen dayys.

In-game time, Eorzeans celebrate the event for an entire in-game year. I don't really know what moon or day these holidays are really supposed to be happening on.

There probably will be some tanabata event, knowing it was important in XI, and the game is japaneese... what i woud like to see as seasonal events?

well i would love class based events, like harvest event for botanist in summer, warm hats crafting event for weavers in winter and so on. Winter event could be multiclass, like weavers craft hats, botanists log for fire wood, alhemist make pills for cold, and such.

There are some crazy awesome ideas here.
I think it's actually fun to design them and to think of funny crazy things to do, so I got a little disapointed with valentine's day's event. The fact that the game is just starting doesn't help. But let's not talk about that.

I'd love to see a snowfight at xmas, and the costume dressup at halloween.

It would be nice if we we could buy/adquire/craft cupid arrows on valentine's days that actually charmed the monsters ;P making little hearts dance around the monsters. Just for fun lol

Or craft a love potion and pour it on chocolates to make a big heart appear above someone's head if he eats it lol

For halloween it would be nice to have a costume contest or a parade for everyone.

Maybe like a pool party in the summer, or a ferry ride where everyone traveled to a paradisic island. Lots of swimsuits and activities to do. ;P

If they do swimsuits again, I hope the females can get Racer back competition styled one pieces. :/ I'm not a fan of bikini's no matter how good a womans "Beach Body" is.

I also vote for a hauted house and we play japanese spirit games and as groups go on survival walks in a fatel frame styles woods and house with japanese styled outfits based on the various spirits in japanese lore.

I remember when they did that one event in XI where they sent you off with a friend to scary dungeons as a level 1 level cap and find a ??? in the environment.

i loved that. you and your friend were invisable and not only had t find each other but find the ???.
I watch a ton of anime and one think I lkiked is survival walks they did for holloween episodes like in GTO with "the ring/ ringu" parody. Pretty mudch make a deep deep gusgen mines type field/building zone where you must walk (not run) through some wood and the top floor of a house and click the Item. Along the way some stuff jump like phantom npc ala fatal frame where you hear that creepy music and the film grain cs starts. stuff like that to really creep ppl out. another thing is play a japanese candle game where you tell ghost stories and blow out a candle. How they can set it up is you have a somewhat madlib style 5 selection to on how you story will go you select 1of 5 options and see a cs about your choices.
