You were consistently one of such people. I still remember us going back and forth when the changes to passive MP regen were made in 1.x.

Now it's for ARR, a game we known very little about. Even if in alpha you know very little. If not in alpha, you know basically nothing in the grand scheme of things.

In short, trying it out matters. Don't kid yourself.

Also, do you have some sort of obsession with the word "teet"?
Dude get it through your head. I have tried this ability for hours. I have LIVED this ability.

And no, your analysis of trends is false. People have adapted to changes but that doesn't mean nothing was lost along the way. The game has lost a lot in game mechanics as it has been dumbed down to the WoW level. Yes, the WoW level is still a functional way to clear battles, but that doesn't mean it's more fun or better. Just because it ended up not breaking the game doesn't mean the concerns have lost any relevance.

I remember the MP regen debate well, and guess what, it's still senseless that moving 1 inch resets your MP regen. It's stupid that you have to stand there like a stone. That's not particularly fun. Most other games I can think of have MP regen stats and a set MP regen rate that you can use while MOVING. You argued that it wouldn't be that big of a deal, and it didn't break the game but it is still annoying, stupid, and unfun. A lot like you actually.

I think you're on the wrong side of the debate. Your first instinct is to accept whatever SE throws at you, yes, much like a baby suckling at dear mother. I've always been anti-establishment so my first instinct is to be critical. I have no problem accepting forward-thinking design decisions, but guess what, this is ripped from a decidedly uninspired MMORPG. Maybe you just don't see the big picture. Have you played many other games?

Another post riddled with personal attacks and ad hominems.

Anyway, its good that you mentioned your opinion on how you think the game has been dumbed down by YoshiP. Gives more insight to your perspective on a whole. I've been around long enough to known you, but a lot of new people on the forums who I'm sure will appreciate it.

Also, no. My first instinct is not to accept what I'm given. It's also not to be critical and anti-establishment oriented as you just admitted to. My first instinct is to make sure I learn everything about this new thing, consider every scenario and how it will work with the rest of the game, and then get the opinions of the few people whose opinions I particularly respect.

I agree OP's analysis of the ability and support his suggestions. (Yes I liked his post too.)

Rolling the movement-speed increase into a passive effect would be my first choice. It would be better for everyone.

I can only imagine how many times I would press the keybind (if it was close to movement keys) by mistake either just before or in combat - burning all my TP...

No thanks, I can see it being great on the action bar.. Especially since the abilities are super easy to click & drag around the place (according to vids).. If it gets in the way just move it to another action bar slot.

Any kiting exploit can be countered with draw in. However I remember in FFXI, people kited King Behemoth, and Kirin all the time in the stone age.

Oh, also Neptune, the whole Sonic/Super Saiyan blue flashes and bullets BS you're spewing just further goes to shown that you need to try it out in game before judging. In fact how much attention did you pay to the videos.

    1. There is no aura or anything when the buff is active, only a brief, subtle animation when you first activate it.
    2. The increase to movement speed is not very large. Its enough to notice you're moving faster, but not enough to call anyone shooting around like bullets or Sonic.

Hyperbole has its uses. You're doing it wrong.

Dude what are you talking about. You think that is news to me? The supersaiyan comments still stand. In a heavily populated area you are not going to be able to win a bet that pointing your screen in one direction you won't see blue flashes and darting individuals going this way and that.

I dislike the sense I get from that experience. When you see someone Sprint, it tells you they are determined to complete a task so much that they are rushing to get there. You're supposed to be in this online world that's social, and Sprint just reminds you that everyone is paying attention only to their inner world. It kind of leaves you with this disconnect from the social experience. If everyone is just walking around it's easier to to check them out and have more of that MMO experience.

Just curious. Do you toggle walk a hundred percent of the time when you play an MMO? If not, how can you possibly complain about people running around everywhere?

For that matter, did you have an issue with Fists of Wind or Swiftsong? I'm sure anyone in Alpha will tell you that Sprint gives a speed boost comparable to those two skills. So I hardly think you'll see people darting around at Sonic the Hedgehog speeds.

Also, Sprint is situationally useful. As even you yourself pointed out, it can be used in the same capacity as a Flee ability.

Could you tell me again exactly why you have a problem with it? The reasons in your original post seem frivolous, and you haven't expounded upon them in any meaningful way throughout the course of this thread.

Well they're not frivolous. Thank you, come again.
