Bringing back some FFXI armor sets

Bring back the names as a nod to FFXI sure, but the FFXIV team could make way better looking armor these days, considering those armor sets were only reskins.

Here's an old picture I made to prove this fact back when those armor sets were released.

Fail so much fail, not SE, you.... every day you dress in clothing (am assuming), which looks not so much different from what you had on yesterday, with the difference being... different color shirt (but still a shirr), different color pant's (or maybe the same), and so on... 9/10 for all clothing is recolor of the same thing in the real world (mind you with a different label making a 10$ cost 100$), why would it be any different in a game?!

I do agree that SE should borrow some skins from XI, and it would be cool to see SH and Haub all over again... man i used those for years!

Unless you dress like Lady Gaga, you dress like a normal human being with functional clothing... Slim, slim/straight, straight, relaxed, relaxed/straight, classic, standard are the different styles of jeans you can get. Everything else is a recolor of the original 7 styles.. be it red, green, ripped, fade out, fade in, and so on!!

Same with armor you have lets say 15 styles, and based of what said items of said style is made from some may be more "advanced then others"... example your level 5 pants maybe from hemp, while your level 50 are from cashmerer.. same style different look, or even the same look depending on the color used...

No. Just no.

SE doesn't need another excuse to be lazy.

If they're going to borrow gear, they need to redesign it to fit into the XIV world and be unique.

And if you recall, way way way back Yoshi P made a comment that creating a full set of armor from scratch takes about 6 months, from sketch work to finalized product. In other words, the art team has already been working hard on new armor sets for the past 2 years.

Your suggestion can be viewed as an insult to their hard work. Just wait and see what 2.0 brings.

Hey ummm, this is a fantasy game.... Not reality simulator online. We want fantasy and high fantasy clothing.
