    Alpha Vid 5 - Actions

    I read through most of the bashing and the anti bashing going on in the vid 5 thread and then looked for to see any discussion on the actual battle system shown in the video, and all i could find is people ranting about the questing, so i started this tread to post the actions i recorded from the vid.

    (Posted in order that they appeared in the vid.)

    Stone - Deals Earth damage with a potency of 80
    Spell - Cast: 3s - Recast: 4s - MP Cost: 33
    Range: 25y - Radius: 0y
    Acquired: LV. 1 - Affinity: Requires CNJ THM

    Aero - Deals Wind damage with a potency of 70
    Spell - Addition Effect: Wind damage over time - Potency: 5 Duration: 18s

    I was so giddy when I saw knockback actually chucking things a reasonable distance, always bothered me in 11 how all of my knockback spells (BLU) would shit the mobs a half inch, when theirs threw me halfway to the next zone.

    Shame Nael is gone, or we could dish out some payback for that damned annoying knockback attack of his.

    I was always terrible at judging how far a yalm was, but you say its a good distance? for pvp purposes i hope the Recast gets increased on this, 4 sec isnt very long. but i was excited to see it was instant cast.

    Hmmm. I wonder if this means CNJ will be the second line of defense for when Hate goes bonkers on an enemy. They can bat an enemy back to the tank with that water spell. Just trying to think up good uses of that spell.

    And (Unless dragoons always had this >_> I know 'jump' had ranged reach) looks like melee classes may have single WS with further reach. I guess these are best used against fleeing PVPers... (Or getting knockbacked by water XD).

    Idk about that, you'd kill all your mages if you knocked him too far away XD.

    15 yalms is enough for a mob to take around four or five seconds to get back to you. The cooldown is low enough that you could probably cast->water->cast->water but seeing as it's mp cost is double that of the other spells and it's damage is low you'll end up killing yourself with mana starvation if you spam too hard (plus you couldn't do combos that didn't involve water)

    It's a nice defensive spell, (water, that is). And I'm sure there are some shenanigans that could be done with it.

    Imagine a party of CNJ who use water spells to herd mobs into a spot where they could all get AOE'd by BLMs or WARs...

    And then there's the PVP implications.

    spells have 4 s WS have 3s, Keen flurry has 90s

    edit: you meant a global cooldown didnt you? lol
