To listen to suffer to entrust until tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow"

It's really possible to be on the Vita and Wii-U. Sadly, Microsoft denied it for Xbox Live because they do not want cross-platform servers. DCUO agreed.
I know Microsoft denied and said they did not want cross platform servers, but any idea why?
Was it security issues? Or the simple fact of their competitors being on the same servers?
If it was the latter I think that is a bunch of crap. :P
They are probably thinking that they would not get the maximum potiential of sales because some sales would be lost due to ppl chosing Sony over Microsoft.
Xbox Live is an entirely closed and locked system, completely under control of Microsoft. It's policies deny any possible cross server gameplay with other networks and any gameplay that isn't directly controlled and policied by Microsoft itself.
Final Fantasy XI is an exception because it was released before the current policies were created.
I get that, but is that because of security to provide a better network?Xbox Live is an entirely closed and locked system, completely under control of Microsoft. Or competitive practices to shut out the competition from using their network?
XI opened up a loop whole in the whole Xbox subscriber model, you don't need gold for online play, in short they don't want developers to take advantage of this. so all online traffic must come from gold subscribers, you can see where this is going to be an issue for subscription based games.I know Microsoft denied and said they did not want cross platform servers, but any idea why?

here's something interesting about the con art at Microsoft, did you know your paying Microsoft to use your bandwidth to host there ads. in any other circumstance MS would be paying you for generating there multimillion dollar ad traffic.
True Fantasy Live Online... Oh how I not forget about it?
All respect to angry Level-5.
