I remember posting about this when the first Alpha stream came out.
What a shame this might be permanent.

I think the best we can hope for is for alternate settings.
Like, type A uses an extra button to turn around, type B works like 1.0

Would like to see if we can make enough noise for management to hear us though.

I'd loathe using the mouse when playing a mmorpg. XI I played with keyboard only, and XIV with gamepad.

Mouse outside a FPS? Not my cup of tea.
