New NVIDIA GeForce Experience BETA Software

Although this isn't exactly FFXIV-related, but graphics card related, I thought I'd share this. This is a new BETA software from NVIDIA that can optimize game profiles and the drivers if you have an NVIDIA card. I wanted to show this in case anyone on this forum is also in the Alpha (don't tell us that you're in it, but this software can possibly help your hardware play it better) and then later the Beta, and finally the Final version.

    To download:

I may reinstall FFXIV (possibly FFXI) just to see what the current and optimal settings will be.

I've had it for a bit but I understand that they have a very small list of games that actually work with the software. Popular games, but still a small list.

Yeah, I just saw that too. I don't know why they can't include all PC games. I mean, AMD had a listing on their webpage for FFXIV yet NVIDIA never did, but NVIDIA does have FFXI listed. It's just too strange with them. Hopefully NVIDIA will add more, and possibly ARR.

Pretty interesting, but it doesn't support FFXIV for this closed beta and it also doesn't optimize for SLI.

I hope that they do have more settings for other games. Not everyone plays all the games they have listed as being compatible with the software. I know this software is considered BETA and all, but I also sent them some feedback on adding more games such as Final Fantasy XI and FFXIV: ARR when it's released (or for the Beta). NVIDIA does have a discussion forum for this software, too.

I'm really wondering if FFXI and FFXIV ever had optimized profile settings. I know that the NVIDIA Inspector had settings for both games listed. FFXI is listed under All Play-On-line Games, and FFXIV had a profile, too. I just find it odd that there is no way to tell what the optimized settings were for both game profiles. It would have given us a better understanding how the game ran on different hardware with different settings.

FFXI doesn't even have any settings. You have to hack it just to get it to look different, and there's no way to get above 15 fps in most areas. Lost cause as far as this software goes.

You sure? With my GeForce 555M GT card, I got a lot more settings in the config for FFXI for resolution and background resolution for the graphics. I looked on my desktop (260 GTX) and those settings aren't on the config for FFXI. I think it's because there are higher settings that are unlocked if you have a DirectX 11 card, or maybe I'm wrong. Plus FFXI doesn't make my laptop's fan run like FFXIV did. I do know that there are some tweaks I found on Guru3D for the SweetFX Suite. I'm going to try that for the FFXI settings. Once the Beta for ARR is released, I'll try those tools for the game as well.

You're talking about nVidia settings. I think this program changes actual game files, as opposed to adjusting those settings. But maybe it does both.
