This is how you make level progression, repetitive, mindless and boring if you have no imagination and have decided instead to just copy almost every other MMO for the past 8 years with the same repetitive "kill x of y" crap.

Right, because sitting in whitegate for several hours hoping for an invite, then taking up to 20 minutes to get to camp only to kill the same mob for three hours ad nauseum is so much more imaginative. >.>

That being said, I see a four-second GCD. I'd personally be more worried about the fact melee hits can still interrupt spells in combat over your whining over the quest system. It's going to make mages' life real difficult in PvP.

Dont think I have come across an mmo which didnt have cookie cutter level progression quests, if you have please post.

Umm, what you described was a quest chain. How do you know that in the video that was shown wasn't smaller quests in a quest chain?

Yes, what I wrote was similar to a quest chain, but with one major difference.

A quest chain a a series of the quests demoed with little text in between to fein interconnectivity.

What I wrote was a single experience designed to be played in a linear fashion.

The difference is subtle, but the impact on storytelling is massive.

Apparently you don't have a clue about what you're talking about.

I'll get straight to the point. Side Quest in Final Fantasy is optional. You don't have to do it, you don't have to get a Gold Chocobo, you don't have to get Lion Heart. throwaway quest right? because you don't need them to beat the game.

What they demoed was two quest aimed for Lv12 and below, what else do you expect from a 5min demo?

I hope quests like these won't be the main bread-and-butter of leveling, there's just too much running vs action. Even leves were better since they cut back the whole running thing with aetheryte camps/nodes and teles.

I have to admit, I did feel it to be a bit ... Tera-ish but I'll wait and see what other footage is released. It's Alpha and all and maybe showing the quest along with the battle footage gave me that feeling. If I saw one or the other, meh who knows?

My only REAL complaint in these videos; why the hell is the camera right up on the character?! Can I get a little zoom out FFS? I almost feel a bit claustrophobic. :-s
