    Yes!

    When I first played SWTOR I was like "Wow, full voice acting, this is so cool!"...but then when they did the alien voices and those I noticed the same phrases cropping up again...and again...and again @_@! The luster soon became lost D:.

    I read really fast and I'm hella impatient, so if I have an npc all like "Hmm well, let's sit and chat for 30minutes about haggis before I tell you about this quest..." I get so bored D:, but a silent NPC is kinda lifeless to me! A little "Hey!" "Ahh~" or even "Many thanks!" goes a long way without dragging things out and adding unnecessary dialogue.

    That's just like the recent Legend of Zelda games, with voice tones. I like that idea, too. It would be better if they did that for ARR as well, just to give some NPCs some character.

    I wouldn't say voice acting is a total waste of time or resources. A little bit can go a long way. For example even the few lines Yda got and the way she said them made me like her. And if you just record some neutral greetings, I think it engages players a little more to hear some dialogue once in a while rather than the eerie silence save for crafting flash sounds.

    Of course, you don't need to go full retard like SWTOR did. And they only did that because they knew they couldn't do anything interesting. (real talk)

    XIV is international, it would require too much of work. All languages have to be on the same patch so we would have more delays tho.

    FFX is the first FF to have voice actors and I hated the laughing part.

    With respect, if I play an english localized version of a game, I expect the voiceacting to be english. Subs and Japanese? No thanks.

    I think if the main storyline stuff is voiced for each supported language, that will suffice. I don't mind reading quest text.
