When does the Alpha Test end?

Alpha has already ended. They Added an Extra Phase to satiate the whiners.

Since Alpha is over now, does that mean that they're going to start Beta sooner than originally projected? One would hope! =]

They said there was 4 phase before the whiners started to whine :P. I still believe Alpha is still running.

A world merge test is scheduled for the soon-to-commence Phase 4, after which the Alpha Test will come to a close around mid-December. But if the demand is there, we’ll consider leaving the alpha worlds online until the end of the year. (Though we can’t really call it an alpha test anymore.)

And If I get this correct When they say if there's demand for Alpha to be up after Alpha testing is done... does that mean anyone who hasn't tried it yet can see what Alpha is like? meh

It's probably just like the demand to keep playing 1.0 after the story officially ended. If they let people in after the test phase is complete, (aka they stop taking bug reports) it'll be just to check things out.

Yes, alpha does end when beta starts ... That's all I know....

Isn't beta supposed to start late January/early February? If alpha is ending this month, that means there will be at least a month break between the two.

To further expand on my thought, i would estimate alpha will be up until SE is confidant in the server stability, and enough feed back/and bugs have been collected/resolved... personally i hope SE skips the fan service and closes alpha when all info needed is collected...

Sounds like SE just has the world merge test to do before they call the servers stable enough to start work on Beta. I expect Beta in early 2013 considering they said that they have plans to possibly extend the Alpha (Just for giggles) to the end of the year meaning they don't have plans for Beta in 2012.

It was confirmed during the last Live Letter that the Beta test starts at the end of January/beginning of February.
