Fans: Broadcast Your Praise!

It's come to my attention that a lot of people, even those who play XI, are completely oblivious to the idea of A Realm Reborn. A few times now I have brought up A Realm Reborn to my XI friends and received the following response: "Is that the new expansion?" Of course we all know that the imminent 2.0 is far more than any silly expansion.

Just like we are toward XIV, XI fans are extremely loyal to their fair Vana'diel (including myself), but that doesn't mean we should let them remain ignorant of XIV's situation. Even if XIV turns out exactly as it should, what could ultimately kill it is word of mouth. People are far more likely to say something in complaint than in praise, so it's up to us fans to broadcast our excitement and remedy this festering wound of negativity!

Side note: I'm expecting some of those downers to start tearing this thread apart, so just ignore them.

@Developers: I hope you can show more assertive marketing closer to launch. The trailers are pretty and all, but they don't really scream "This game has been rebuilt!" Given the aforementioned ignorant responses of outsiders, they probably see these things and think it's the same game. Do something to show them otherwise.

We have a XIV player linkshell on FFXI Phoenix. We talk about XIV in almost every party we enter. A lot of people have been like "isn't that game really shitty?" but by the time the party is over we have 2 or 3 more people interested in the game and want to try it out.

What is this? Is it all about trying to bring XI players to try XIV? Some friends of mine who have never played XI and are looking forward to play FFXIV:ARR. So far, 8 friends are interested and two of them played 1.0.

I don't think that was quite the point. As OP stated alot aren't aware of the rebuild and most are probably out there with their original disappointments from the beginning. Isn't just Xi players I'm sure there are other gamers out there stuck in other MMOs unaware of the change and still remember all the negative hype from the original Xiv.

I remember in a leveing alliance me and one of my pals was in, there was 2 people who were COMPLETLY ignorant to anything FF14 had after launch. They argued with me saying there was no jobs like white mage and dragoon, no end game bosses, despite the both of us (who have played XIV for some time) saying what Yoshida added. They ended up ragequitting the party, it was pretty commical.
