The original Crysis was badly optimised. >_> Hence why it still chugs on most hardware today.
Did you expect something witty?
I recently bought an ASUS G73W Gaming laptop, and I'm kind of impressed at how beautifully the game runs on it. Even after a few hours, this machine is still running cool. Are you guys sure your machine settings are correct?
umm you sir are full of it Asus laptops naturally run hot, so unless you made some massive modifications I dont see how this is physically possible. Especially when every tech forum tells you from the get go on a Asus laptop crack it open and replace the horrid GPU paste they install on the systems. Please post some pictures of MSI afterburner video card specs etc. I would bet you that your video card is running 73C in game when playing XIV.
Just chiming in to say that I recently upgraded my nvidia drivers to version 270.61 which reduced the temps about 20 degrees. I'm beginning to think the problems are more on the driver end than SE's.
G73's are the ones with the giant jet vents on the back. My friend played on one back in beta and rarely hit 60C.umm you sir are full of it Asus laptops naturally run hot, so unless you made some massive modifications I dont see how this is physically possible. My G60 however has a standard side vent, and can run a bit hot. It used to run at about 74~89C until I updated drivers.
Same results here, more or less. Went from the above temps to running 60~72C.
There is work to be done on both ends, as Square needs to further optimize the engine and NVidia needs to optimize drivers.

No need to argue on particular laptop models here guys.

They removed the recommended system specs, they might be found in other places but isn't it suspect that they removed them from the game's main site?
So we have:
1) Minimum system requirements are completely misleading. The game will run like crap on them.
2) Recomended system requirements are gone, because they rather not tell you that you need an i7 and a matching GPU to run the game well.
They have lot of optimizations to do, but lots of people would be content with being able to trade eye candy level for some frames per second and a cooler system.

Ummm...they are MINIMUM requirements. I actually spent a weekend playing on worse hardware then that and was still able to maintain framerate in the 20s and enjoy playing the game even if it looked like crap from all the settings reductions. Minimum specs should tell you what it takes to RUN the game, not what it takes to RUN the game and make it PRETTY (which certainly would be a good quad core chip and a $150+ graphics card)
Wheir can i get an app that will show me my temp??
