The problem with the PS3 if I remember right is not the graphics oomph directly or the CPU speed, its tiny amount of ram thats in it, which is the supposed reason for all the copy-pasted terrain.

Eorzea's children are trees in a grove - bending to the wind like the willow, or bearing it like the oak. Yet live how we might, the wind shall blow.Kan-E-Senna, Elder Seeder
Except for the fact the game tends to use over 1gb of Ram in every instance you run it. I would tend to believe optimization for PS3 has not even taken place yet as PS3 only has 512mb of Ram. This Game currently from a programming standpoint has to many floating memory points, errors etc. for its own good. I am not sure if/when SE is going to fix this, but they need to because it is truly a overabundance on our PC Machines.
Ram Doesn't matter in the PS3 because the way the Cell Processor works it can reserve a core thread to operate as memory.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

My brain hurts just thinking about that...
The consoles are so outdated at this point, it hurts to think they kind of ported this game to the ps3, and we are the beta testers.
