No I have no idea how the framebuffer is being accessed in this particular MMO. But that also depends once again on how SE coded the game. The constant load on the system would most likely be Player Characters as that is the one constant that is always changing which the system cannot accommodate automatically for.

But once again that still does not account for a 20C temp discrepancy between Starcraft II, Civ 5, and other games which came out roughly about the same time.
