Because I don't have my System OC, these temperatures are default temps on an Air cooled system. I have no options but to do that if I want to play this summer, and I am sorry that is unacceptable, Stop defending SE for a poorly coded client when 30 ppl have told you this is an issue.

Again, blame nature or blame your set-up. Since almost nothing runs at 85C with proper cooling at default levels. O_o Even if they did code it optimally you would still be limited by Ambient temps.

Duelle, you are probably hearing your hard drive. Since it is accessed so much....

Im no pc expert when it come to these issues but my system does make more noise when running ff14 compared to any other game and its a quad core.

Saying this ff11 ran alot worse on my last pc then upgraded it ran super well so whatever is in the game is pushing the curent system.

I agree as pretty as the game is it should not eat up so much of my system. There are games that are a lot better graphically and have much better physics and they don't need this much stuff to run in full.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Yeah projected to be 90's for us as well, either way, take the summer heat plus PC heat you can imagine how bad this will be.

atleast you're not going without ac been there done that and my house was constantly 94 for a floridian summer time bleh... but anyway... I know I have issues with heating on my laptop after playing the game for an hour but my card is below specs as well as the processor >.< you're all lucky you can play the game for as long as you do some of us have to wait for ps3 or for enough money to buy a decent enough desktop to play

While I am only somewhat above the min system requirements, I'll add my voice to this thread in agreement. I can also hear my vid card straining when XIV is being run, not to mention just more sound from the PC when the game is running.

Then please explain to me while idle my video card sits at a nice cool 32C, I open Starcraft 2 and play its at 54C. Now I open XIV it instantly goes to 55C, when I'm logged into XIV the card is at 80-85C and in town has even jumped as high as 92C. Little background for you I am a certified hardware tech and I can assure you my system is very nicely setup, Zalman CPU cooler, 470 GTX, 3x 240MM fans internally giving good airflow, with 3x 120MM fans up top to properly pull air out of the case.

According to MSi Afterburner right now

    99% GPU Usage
88C Temp fan running at 79%
Fan running at 4k RPM on my GPU

All I am running is Vent and Pidgin IM

This is not a system build issue it is a coding issue within FFXIV.

I have a HIS 5870 and the fan never roars past 50% on auto....mainly because I have proper ways to evacuate the air so it barely peaks at 73C. >_> So it sounds more like a coolnig issue...probably turbulence. That or they need to retitle it "Nvidia, the way it's meant to burn."
